Greenland Jiulong Hotel — Hotel in Shanghai

At best, Meh. They are trying so hard to be a high-end hotel, but missing the mark by quite a bit. The staff can vary from insensitive to downright rude. They advertise free internet, but neglect to tell you they need to supply you with a router to put in your room, then configure. You are told this on a sign on the desk in the room. I went downstairs, asked for the router, then went to dinner. When I returned, the router had been delivered. Exhausted by several days work and international travel, I turned on the "Do Not Disturb" light, then went to sleep. About two hours later, the hotel phone in my room started ringing. I ignored it, because any business I have is conducted on my cell phone. The phone kept ringing and ringing, until finally I couldn't take it any more, got up, stumbled about crashing into furniture, to get to the phone. It was some hotel staffer insisting that I answer the door. I open the door, to discover that the freakin' emergency is they need me to sign a receipt for the stinking router. Yes. Then, when I was unsuccessful in getting the thing to connect the following morning, when I called downstairs on any of the buttons on the phone, no one would answer. Ever. Then breakfast is advertised to end at 10am. I arrived at 9:45, got some food from the buffet, sat down and started eating. After a short while, one of the waitresses came by to tell me I had to stop eating now, because it was 10, and they were closing the restaurant. Other...

Average hotel. The rooms are nice and big and the staff are generally polite and helpful, despite communication issues (this hotel is more aimed at the Chinese market so there aren't many English speaking staff).
