Pros: - Within 1km of the bund and right next to Suzhou river which was a great place for an evening stroll - fairly new and clean, though some parts of the room was a little dusty - there was a laundry room and the machines were clean and easy to use. Detergent provided. - Hair dryer was powerful - Bed was firm and comfortable - There was a cushioned seat next to the window to enjoy the view from the room Cons:- hotel lobby appeared messy - Room did not have a properwardrobe, there was just a small open rack for you to hang a few clothings- No safety box to store valuable items, which was strange - Internet was not secure and not stable, it doesn’t work every now and then- Room offered free streaming of China shows, however during Sat night there seemed to be too many users using the app at the same time, hence we were not able to watch the shows that we wanted as “too many users were on the account” - Drainage for the bathroom basin is a bit slow - upon checking out, we were asked to leave a good review online without even asked how was our experience staying...
Read moreWe loved this hotel! They upgraded us and were so efficient at check in. I was shocked by how good the view was and we had a bathtub in the room too, the room was very spacious. Great service, whatever we asked for they had someone bring within 5 minutes. There’s a robot to deliver take out that is quick too. Cleanliness was good, cleaning aunties were lovely. They had a lot of amenities provided like sleep mask etc and a bathtub bag that was replaced daily. Near the lifts you can grab extra combs, toothbrushes etc if you needed it, so that was convenient. Bed was very comfortable, loved the pillows. Block out curtains did a good job and I didn’t hear any sounds- overall great sleep. Such an amazing location near the bund w a fantastic river view, I would stay here again in a heart beat. Also they always have 2 doormen at any time who helped to carry the luggage up the stairs and bring to the room etc. Even very late at night they’re there which does help to make the lobby security feel...
Read moreWe stayed at The Bund Puyan Hotel for three nights, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The room had decent space and came with a nice view, which was a bonus. The hotel itself looks old but is very well-maintained, giving it a charming character. The breakfast, however, was a letdown—very limited options and no live cooking counter. If you’re someone who skips breakfast, this won’t be an issue. The location is a strong point, just a 10-minute walk to Nanjing Road and 15 minutes to The Bund. The staff were the real highlight—exceptionally helpful and kind. When I fell sick, they guided me to the nearest government hospital and gave clear advice on what to do. A special shoutout to Jiang Yu Fei, who went above and beyond by arranging a last-minute 6-seater taxi to the airport when I struggled to book one through the Didi app. Big kudos to the team! While the breakfast could improve, the location, upkeep, and outstanding staff make this a...
