A disaster after such a wondeful trip. We were three families with children and we had booked three apartments. One with "superior river view" and two were superior rooms. We were on a 17 day trip of Japan and China. Shanghai was our last leg before returning to Australia. All our hotel stays on the trip was simply great until we came to Shanghai. This place was a shocker, the apartments were hard to find as it is behind another set of dirty apartments. We had to go to a room at level 12 to collect the keys .This room at level is an indication of things to come. The less said the better about this " check in" place. The corridors of each level are filthy. Two of our apartments were on one level and the third on a different level. Except for one room the other two was not ready even though we checked in at 4.00 p.m. The room which was ready had a putrid smell. I had to run away to throw up. When the other apartments were ready, one did not have heating or hot water. In the other one the shower head fell when we turned the tape. The suposedly cleaned rooms were filthy. There was dirt and hair every where. The place is crawling with cockroaches. One family in our group asked for a different apartment and we we're told no other apartment was available till the next day, so my friends went and stayed at the Broadway Mansion hotel across the street. I am about to ring Agoda.com to see whether we can get a refund for this room. We, the other two families perserved because we were too tired and also we were not sure whether we will ever get refunds if we walked out. However this persverance bought us more misery as everyday was a turn for the worse . I can keep going on and on about our problems but I rather conserve my energy and go for some meditation. But to everyone out there I say this please avoid this place, this is the best advice you will ever get from a stranger. Avoid, avoid and avoid...
Read moreTricky to review, this one. We were really disappointed on arrival. Apartment was clearly meant for 1 or 2, but they sold it to a family of 6. Cramped. Tired. Impossible to find. No reception desk. The shower room had a glass wall overlooking the lounge area, or in our case ‘the third bedroom’...||That being said, the view was spectacular, and - as my family all get on - it was an interesting and manageable experience. We learnt that it was almost spacious by Eastern standards. Our time there certainly brought us closer together, and we look back on our time staying there considerably more favourably than we did when we were actually in it. My advice, expect a lousy experience and you may...
Read moreHard to find the building. Then the company office is a room on the 12th floor. Once out of the lift there's a stench of dogs and dogs barking. The corridors are dirty. The office appears to be an apartment with hand written posters pinned to the door. There's a discarded washing machine and a drink bottle containing cigarette ends in a liquid. A note on the door said out for lunch very sorry. I phoned the number and got told no vacancies despite having booked. Then they put the phone down whilst I was speaking and didn't answer it again. |An appalling place and zero service. Fortunately the agent we booked through found us another...
