Jinji Lake Shilla Hotel — Hotel in Suzhou City

I stayed here 2 times. The first time everything is fine. But the second time was mess, I stayed around 2 week. When I checked out, I paid by cash and they told me the had already canceled my deposit by my visa. That is the terrible thing came. They used my card for other person who checked out same time with me (offline charged, no my signature ). When I came home I get the bank statement and send them complaints. But they did not realize that they were wrong even my Chinese colleague call them to explain they also not accept. I have to take my day off to come to the bank the old card was canceled and I have to make new visa card the bank also do the transaction inquiry. After many email and call, the hotel finally realized they make a mistake. They did the refund after 3 months, but I also have to paid 50 US dollar for the bank fee and the rate. On the outside, this hotel looks great but on the inside, it is an older complex of multiple buildings interconnected with walkways.||We stayed in a suite on the 7th floor which was a good size which had a view of the amusement park adjacent to Jinji lake.||Then we noticed mosquitos. Some others in our group (who stayed on the third floor) had multiple mosquito bites on their arms and legs after sleeping overnight.||The buffet was acceptable and there was a restaurant for dinner inside the complex which was ok although a little overpriced compared to restaurants outside the hotel.||Originally we were booked for 5 nights but we decided to change hotels and stayed across the street at the Intetcontinental which is a brand new hotel without the...

We spent a couple of days for a weekend trip. I felt the price was quite high for the value received though. I've paid less for a lot more in other international Hotels throughout China. ||Breakfast was ok and on par with a 4 star standard. ||But, if you're going to use the swimming pool, the locker rooms could hardly fit more than 1 person in any area. There was no sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. The pool itself was fine. ||The rooms were also 4 star. ||||So overall, neither here nor there for this property, mainly because of the high price tag. They charge a lot because it's near the lake. If they want to become a 5 star property however, they'll have to make upgrades with their facilities including the gym which has basic equipment ....
