Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)My recent stay at this hotel left me with mixed feelings. Here’s a detailed breakdown:🚪 Rooms & Environment: Below Expectations1. Outdated Facilities: The room decor is visibly worn, with furniture showing significant signs of aging (e.g., chipped table corners, scratched walls). Some appliances malfunctioned, falling short of the advertised standards.2. Cleanliness Issues: Stains on carpets, dust buildup in bathroom corners, and hair residue in the shower drain were disappointing.3. Cramped Space: The twin-bed room felt claustrophobic. Unpacking luggage obstructed movement, and small windows limited natural light.💰 Value for Money: Overpriced• At over ¥800/night, the room quality matched budget-chain hotels. Nearby newly renovated star-rated hotels offered better value.• Unjustified extras: Breakfast (¥58/person) was a fixed, monotonous set (porridge + buns), lacking variety.👍 Service: The Only Highlight• Efficient front desk: Staff swiftly assisted with room upgrades (though upgraded rooms still had issues). Mr. Ye from the concierge stood out for his warm, thoughtful help with luggage and local transport tips.• Quick response: Requests like extra blankets or laundry detergent were fulfilled within 10 minutes.🌍 Location: Unbeatable• Prime spot: Directly opposite Gongbei Port and Zhuhai Railway Station. Walking distance to shopping plazas (5 mins) and Lovers’ Road seaside (10 mins).• Surrounding amenities: Street food, cafes, and underground malls right downstairs, ideal for short stays.⚖️ Verdict: Suitable for Transit Stays Only• Recommended for: Travelers prioritizing proximity to transportation (e.g., early trains/Macau border crossings) for brief stays.• Avoid if: You value room comfort or plan longer stays. Families should note the tight twin-bed rooms. Honest FeedbackAs a hotel positioning itself as upscale, aging facilities and hygiene lapses undermine its appeal. Management must address these to compete in Gongbei’s...
Read moreThe cold welcome water and juice at check in is awesome. 100% great location, right across the railway station and the border to Macao. However, I’d skip the breakfast, it is extremely limited and it’s not an international breakfast. You’d have a better choice at cheaper rates as you step outside the hotel doors. The service ladies are extremely kind and accommodating on days you don’t feel like being up early for room servicing. However, the carpets are a bit stained and require shampooing or changing. Someone needs to be firm regarding smoking on corridors, especially around the no-smoking rooms. I saw a man walking with a lit cigarette right in front of hotel staff and no one said a word. The reception staff on the 5th floor are very helpful and kind. They go beyond the call of duty to assist with information. I’d definitely return here, it’s even easier to travel within Zhuhai as the buses are also nearby. For the beach lovers, the hotel is conveniently situated within 5.4 km to Zhuhai Sand Beach and it’s only a 1RMB bus ride. Lots of restaurants and convenience shops outside the hotel, with a shopping plaza right outside the door for those who enjoy shopping. The gym is a nice touch and the water in the gym very...
Read moreUpon arrival, we took a while to find where the hotel was. We usually expect a lobby on the ground floor. But, the hotel lobby was located on Level 5. Checked in was a breeze with the friendly staff. On learning that breakfast would be able from 7.30 am onwards which do not meet our needs as we have to leave around that time to the golf courses.Fortunately, Ms Chen Xinyi was gracious to help us contact Trip.com and make arrangements to cancel all our pre booked breakfast and get a refund. She even added me to the hotel wechat so that we can liaise with the hotel should we need any help. We would like to compliment her for excellent services! Great job, Ms. Chen.Apart from the friendly services, we liked that the hotel room deco was modern and cleaned. Housekeeping did a good job in maintaining the cleanliness for the comfort of their guests. L hotel is located a stone throw from the Gongbei Port and the Shopping Plaza. A shopping paradise. You can always cross over to Macau with ease within 30 mins. Besides, there is a good Tim sum restaurant and 24hrs Lawson on the ground floor. Many eateries and massage outlets within the vicinity. 10/10 for its location! It was our pleasure to have...
