The Lin Zexu Museum is located near Lin Fong Temple on the north side of Mong Ha hill on the Macau Peninsula. This is an isolated attraction quite far from the majority of Macau's sightseeing in the historic city centre. However, it might be of interest to history buffs or others planning to visit the famous temple here.

At the museum you can learn about the famous visit to Macau of Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu who was dispatched here in 1839 to negotiate the end of the opium trade that was plaguing the nation of China. Events unfolded afterwards that would result in the Opium Wars and the cession of Hong Kong from China to Britain.

The museum can be comfortably visited in 10-15 minutes and is best combined with a visit to the nearby Lin Fong Temple just a couple minutes away. This is where Commissioner Lin Zexu stayed during his famous visit to Macau and one of Macau's most interesting temples to visit.
