If I’m being honest, this is more of a 4.5 out of 5 review, but I’m rounding up to 5 because in the end this hotel delivered in helping yo make this first visit to Bogotá an incredible one. ||Because this is a boutique hotel, the rooms can be a bit different. This review is for Room 901, or the penthouse apartment 85m on their website. ||The Location:|It is located in a beautiful and very safe neighborhood next to Virrey Park, which was a delight to walk through and is excellent for bike rides, exercise, relaxing, etc. Be prepared to see all the dogs. The walkability to a lot of high-level restaurants and shops is top notch. ||The Hotel: |It’s a small hotel nestled with other apartment-style buildings. It’s very cozy and modern. The front desk and rest of the hotel staff are warm and friendly. Ordering a shuttle to the airport was a breeze and high quality at a very affordable price. ||There isn’t a fully operational restaurant but breakfast is included and it’s a nice spread with custom eggs made to order. ||The Room: |Apt. 901 has some of the most incredible views you’ll find. The bedroom patio is magnificent and the views from the pool area is also quite spectacular. It is nice to have immediate access to the pool as well. However, there are some issues you should be aware of for this specific apartment. ||- Privacy issues: guests have to reserve pool time to use it. If other guests are using it they are literally a sliding door away from your living area in the apartment. ||- The bathroom is actually quite small for an apartment of this size. Anyone with ADA needs should be cautious. ||- Some noticeable wear and tear: one of the closet doors didn’t close and some boards on the bathroom floor were warped due to the shower design not keeping out water splash well. Curtain movers were also broken, but we managed without them. ||- lack of hangers and closet space for bags/luggage: you will have to likely use the floor near the TV. The closet space isn’t much to work with and we were given 4 hangers with 1 of them having a robe on it. A luggage rack would’ve been nice but wasn’t included. ||Final Thoughts:|Ultimately we were fine with the room despite the issues. For the price paid you can probably find better accommodations but the combination of the location plus the service really made up for any areas that fell short of expectation. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a top quality level of comfort while visiting this...
Read moreThe room was very nice. It was new, modern, big, and comfortable (although it was described as having a balcony, which it really didn't have). The shower was also good. The location can be tricky, at least for us. On the one hand, it is a wealthy part of town and feels safe, even after dark. It is also just near a nice small urban park. On the other hand, it is not right at Zone T and it is quite far from the tourist areas (the old city and areas with the top restaurants). Bogota has really bad traffic and there is relatively few taxis near the hotel, so getting anywhere took us a lot of time. The staff of the hotel is a hit or miss. In our experience, the morning shift people were very helpful. The afternoon-night shift, so so. They were polite but not too excited to help. For example, when we checked in we only got one key, and you need a key for everything in this hotel (using the elevator or the electricity in the room). So we asked for a second key and they told us to come back in the morning. Another time we really couldn't find a cab willing to pick us up (the hotel is in a residential area so even the apps have trouble serving it when things get busy) and were really stuck and desperately asked the hotel for help and were told "go to the main road." The breakfast areas of the hotel is absolutely beautiful (the lobby is really nice too btw). The breakfast itself was just OK. We had much better ones on our Colombia trip. Overall, this experience was not bad but not great. This is an expensive hotel (for Bogota), and in hindsight we know we could have done better (we also stayed in GHL Tequendama in Bogota during this trip, which was...
Read moreWow what an amazing place this was! Huge beautiful lobby with plenty of places to sit and relax, a huge room with sofas, and multiple seating areas, even a table to work from with comfortable and luxurious seats. A fully equipped kitchen with microwave and cooking pans plus a fridge should you need it and our room had a balcony also. Everything was spotless, the staff were amazing and the breakfast was also amazing, you had fruits, pastries, breads, eggs however you wanted them, and lots of local breakfast items in addition to all that! Fresh juices and smoothies with no added sugar and a rooftop heated pool that is empty with some nice views over the city. I can't fault this place at all, the staff were friendly and helpful, from the breakfast guys to the reception. The neighbourhood is far from La Candaleria but is situated in front of a nice park popular with joggers and dog walkers, a taxi into town cost around $5-7 and is a 45 min ride into La Candelaria. I personally didn't care for La Candelaria it was all a bit too urban decay for me although there are some nice spots around. The altitude made it difficult for me at first so we just stayed a few days before heading elsewhere. The room is super quiet (apart from a party in an adjacent room one night) but it wasn't loud enough to bother us. I highly recommend this place to stay you will love it if you like comfort and luxury at a very...
