I chose this hotel because it has excellent ratings through different review platforms but it was the worse hotel stay i have ever had in Bogóta and I have stayed in many! Maybe I just had bad luck? I had an overnight stay and needed a hotel located close to the airport. This one had a free shuttle included. I also chose the hotel because through every website the room description includes a fridge and a microwave which I never saw in Colombian hotels. I was told the shuttle picks up passenger every hour at the airport on the hour. 3pm no shuttle, 4pm no shuttle however 4h20 shuttle arrived. How are guests supposed to know the shuttle arrives at 4h20? Check in was smooth and no issues but once I arrived in my room no microwave. Room was tiny and not worth the price I paid. It was stuffy and no fresh air. No windows that you can open. The hotel was able to accommodate my request for a top floor in a quiet area. My fridge was not working. I had food and cold drinks that became warm throughout my stay. There was a Coffee pod machine but nothing to boil water for tea. No choice of black tea, only green tea. No blow dryer. I called to request one. Told the guy at the front desk I was not dressed and asked them to just leave it at the door. Housekeeper came to my door and knocked non stop for 10 minutes. I was yelling at her through the door to just leave the blow dryer and go but she kept knocking. I even called the reception and told same guy to make her go away. While talking on the phone housekeeper actually opens the door while I am yelling”NO DONT COME IN” I was half dressed so I shut the door and pushed her out. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. It was not only humiliating that a complete stranger walks in my room and sees me half naked but it was frustrating that I called reception and asked them to put a stop to it and they did NOTHING. Finally she left but did not leave me my blow dryer so called 3rd time at the reception. A woman answered and apologized. I put my clothes on and went down to get the blow dryer. Unbelievable. Never had such bad service. Next morning I had no hot water at 5am. Flight was leaving early and I was short on time. They leave 2 large bottles of shampoo and conditioner ( not small samples but in room full bottles) and my conditioner was completely empty. Water from the sink drenched my clean towels that were stored there so I had no dry towels. Had to wait 15 min for someone to come and fix this mess. To replace the empty large bottle of conditioner I was given 2 small sample bottles which were useless for my long hair. Went down to breakfast, barely had any options. 3 type of fruits, unripe hard cantaloupe, pineapple and papaya both overripe/gone bad. Scrambles eggs were soup like and soggy… yuk. No brown bread, just white sweet sugar unhealthy bread for toast. And then to add insult to injury, shuttle on my way back to the airport drops me off at terminal 2 instead of terminal 1 so I had to walk an extra 10 min with my heavy bag and nearly missed my flight. This hotel was a real joke, pitiful excuse for a hotel and does not deserve to carry the Hilton name. I wasn’t even there for 10 hours yet I had so many problems! This is not the top quality Hilton that I have know across the world. staff also poorly represented the professionalism and exceptional service that I usually get at Hilton .They were sloppy and unhelpful. I will never stay here again. I would have a better experience sleeping at...
Read moreI arrived at the hotel shuttle pickup area at the Bogota Airport around 4:30 pm. The hotel says they run every 15 minutes at that time of day. I waited 90 minutes but no shuttle came by. I called twice (pressed #2 for English and then 9 for "personalized service" and only got a single "beep" each time). I saw most of the other hotel shuttles come by (including other Hiltons). I finally called an Uber since I was tired and hungry.
The hotel front desk personnel was very pleasant and helpful but this is what I expect from Hilton. They gave me 1 bottle of water without even asking due to my status with the rewards program. (This is a hit or miss on getting the status gifts or what I get).
I dropped off my bags in the beautiful room and went back down to the lobby to go to the bar/restaurant. The bartender gave me the QR code for the menu of food and at that time I ordered a coconut daiquiri. They said they didn't have it (even though it was on their menu). I changed it to a Strawberry daiquiri. I then ordered a 'meat' pizza off the menu using the 'app'. The 'daquiri' I saw getting made was the juice of a full lime, rum, and a strawberry puree. Blended and served in a martinie glass without even a straw (they did have daiquiri glasses). This was horrid and I didn't even have more than 4 sips which coated my mustache since there isn't an easy way to drink a frozen slush out of a martini glass.
After waiting almost an hour for my pizza, I asked and was told that there wasn't any pizza ordered for me (no matter what they say, don't use the menu app to order food). By this time it was about 7:30 PM and I had been up traveling since before 3AM. It was too late to eat since I had no idea how long the pizza would take to come out. I pay for the drink which was one of the pictures I posted (still full) and head to my room.
The next morning I go to the breakfast buffet (which I find out is included in the rate). Good buffet, not great.
Checkout was easy and the 'free' shuttle took me the 4 KM to the airport.
Would I stay there again? No. Too many issues and too many other hotel choices. I would just stay at another...
Read moreI regret to share the deeply disappointing experience my husband and I had at this hotel during our recent stay, which not only marred our celebration but also led to significant health complications for me.
On New Year's Eve, I hosted a dinner for nine family members at this hotel During the event, I was fortunate to win a romantic stay package, which included a one-night stay featuring elegant decorations, chocolate-covered strawberries, wine, dinner, and breakfast for two. I chose to redeem this package this month anticipating a memorable and relaxing experience.
Prior to this stay, I had undergone a wisdom tooth extraction in Bogotá, which was healing well without any pain. During the special dinner at the hotel's restaurant, I was served an appetizer consisting of mashed potatoes, octopus, and bacon. Given my recent dental procedure, I avoided hard foods like bread, assuming this dish would be safe to consume. However, upon biting into the bacon, I encountered an extremely hard piece that caused immediate and severe pain, accompanied by a cracking sound that alarmed me but I didn't think about much.
However, rhe intense pain persisted, affecting both my tooth and ear, and disrupted the remainder of our stay. The following day, I sought medical attention due to the unrelenting discomfort. This incident not only ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory occasion but also led to ongoing health issues that I am still dealing with.
I am appalled by the negligence displayed by the hotel's culinary team. Serving food with such hazardous inconsistencies demonstrates a lack of attention to guest safety and well-being. As a reputable establishment, I expected a higher standard of care and diligence in food preparation.
This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and in considerable distress. I will be filing a formal complaint with Hilton Corporate to address this issue and to seek appropriate remedies. I urge the Hilton Garden Inn aeropuerto Bogotá to take immediate action to prevent future incidents and to ensure the safety and satisfaction...
