Even though there were lots of free rooms in the hotel, we were placed in a room with adjoining wooden doors connecting to the room next door, which has zero sound insulation. In the room next door there was a family with small children who were being extremely extremely loud, screaming, crying and screeching relentlessly, which is absolutely not what you want after a long-haul flight. Due to the adjoining doors, the sound was as strong as if they were in the room with us. What an awful design for a hotel. After 45 minutes of this, and no sign of the children stopping the ear-piercing noise, I went back to reception to ask for a different room that did not contain adjoining doors and explained the situation in Spanish to the staff member, who had no interest in doing what I asked, just said "this is the room you have been allocated" and said that they would give the family a warning - how are you going to tell a toddler to be quiet?!? I didn't take no for an answer and eventually got our room changed, but it should not have been this hard, what a sheer lack of customer service.
We had enough coffee in the room for a single full cup of coffee and asked if we could get more, as there were two of us, but the staff member said no, that we'd have to buy it if we wanted more. First time I ever hear that, normally hotels are happy to supply more instant coffee, if they have coffee making facilities in the first place.
Third issue we had was the shuttle - one of the big selling points for this hotel is the free airport shuttle. They claim it goes every 30 min from the airport, but is actually (allegedly) every 45 min. They also don't tell you where to take the shuttle. We did figure it out eventually where the shuttles go from, but never saw one for this hotel, so ended up taking a taxi. We then spoke to reception to confirm the shuttle for the next day to go to the airport and we were there almost 10min before the shuttle was meant to leave, but the security at the pickup point said that's not when the shuttle leaves, that it had literally just left, and that the next one would leave in 45min, which would be too late for us getting to the airport on time, so yet again we had to splurge on a taxi because the staff at the hotel literally lied to us about the shuttle times, and it wasn't just us but they also left another American woman stranded as well for the exact same reason. Very poor.
The only saving grace of this hotel is that the beds are comfy and the breakfast is excellent.
If you are planning on booking this hotel for its airport shuttle, don't bother. It will just cause you...
Read moreI stayed one night at this property with my wife due to a delay in our flight from Lima to Bogota, arranged by the flight operator. Along with the stay, they also arranged three meals: lunch, dinner, and breakfast.
The hotel was supposed to pick us up, along with its other guests, from the airport as instructed by the flight operator. However, we waited for two hours without any sign of their pick-up van. Suffering from hunger and tiredness, my wife and I, along with another couple, our co-passenger from the flight, booked an Uber to the hotel.
The room was spacious for a couple like us and had all the amenities: a TV, small fridge, tea and coffee sachets along with a water heater, closet with hangers and iron, and a great view of the cityscape. However, the air coming out from the air conditioner was smelly, making the room quite uncomfortable for a significant portion of our stay.
In terms of the food, lunch was decent with soup, juice, and the main course. We both tried the chicken. However, dinner was a complete disappointment as they served the same main course as lunch. I tried the pork, which was not cooked properly even after instructing them to make it 'well done'. Breakfast was slightly better, and we also enjoyed the view from the sky deck while having breakfast, which was the best part...
Read moreFirstly the manger hid away on some suppose meeting which lasted.all day it seems. Mr. Gregory Gonzalez did not act nor iny humble opinion be in a position of manager when he can not attend to his guests. Santiago the front desk clerk was just inutil to be assist or help in my speaking with his superior. He prefer just to say that Mr. Gonzalez has not reach out to him. Part of the serviced to be rendered is that of the pick up from airport which after an hour of waiting and them making excuses of 25 mins longer . Three times Mr. Santiago told me over the phone that the driver will arrive. A Hilton did arrive but it turn out to be of another Hilton hotel nearby.. I ended having to pay out for the ride to the hotel. Initially, Santiago refused to accept the fact his driver did not show up. Indicating that I would be lying or misleading the situation. This I took it to be super negative and asked to speak to a manager. I have yet to hear from him. I wanted to cancel my reservation but Santiago refuesed pointing out that he would charge me nontheless. The Hilton name is being carried to the mud by the conduct of these individuals. In my opinion not a 5 star place. When their posture was to go against the paying customer for their ineptitutes in completing a task that was ensure as part of my...
