Hotel Boutique Quinta Camacho — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Rooms are well sized with good showers. The walls of the hotel are very thin and our room overlooked the breakfast room so was quite noisy. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The hotel is a couple of blocks away from the main part of Chapinero where there are nice restaurants and bars. 15 mins walk to the hippie park. We had arranged a pick up from the airport with the hotel but it didn't turn up, but taxis were cheaper and very easy to get anyway. We arrived at 3am in the morning and were able to get our room early, although we weren't told until next day this would be an additional charge of 50%of the nightly rate, which later became us taxes plus additional breakfast charge. One of the receptionists, David is his name, threatened with my deportation because I showed him my American passport instead of my Colombian documents. He stated that, if required, the hotel will call an immigration patrol to do so. As you Colombians know, hotels will charge you additional taxes on top of the full price per night based on whether you're a national or not. I'm not living in Colombia at the moment, and as such, prices should be charged to me as a US citizen. Room was fine, no fridge or way to get hot water. Our laundry was $33 USD, over 5 times more than we have paid anywhere in South America. We drank a water bottle in our room which was a big mistake as we thought it was included, and then upon checkout, we were accused of eating a Snickers bar, which we did not. We never saw any Snickers (or any candy or food) in our room. Of course we paid for the water we drank ($5 USD) Breakfast was fine.
