From the outside, this hotel isn't so aesthetically pleasing. Also I arrived in the morning and wanted to check in early but I had to wait for them to clean the rooms. However they still let me check in a little early at 130pm. ||||The lobby is small, but they have coffee and a computer upstairs. It's on a busy street with shops, restaurants, and phone stores where you can buy a phone or sim card. ||||The staff here is very nice and they will not hesitate to help you out. Even if you don't speak much Spanish. The man who works in the daytime speaks english, but the woman who works at night does not, however she's really nice and will help you as much as she can. They told me not to walk around at night, but daytime is fine, and they will call you a taxi. ||||I guess this is the norm in Colombian hotels, but breakfast is brought straight to your room! For a charge of course, but it's about 3-4 usd! Cheapest room service I've ever heard of! It's a small continental type breakfast, but great way to start your day, if you're new in town and don't know where to go for breakfast. ||||Now the room was pretty nice. It's spacious, large windows, nice kitchen area. No stove, but has hotplates/stovetop. So pretty good if you're staying more than a few days. Mostly clean but I did see hairs in the bathroom and shower is right by the window although window is covered. The shower could've looked better. ||||It comes with a safe, but mine didn't work. They came up to check it but I only stayed a few days. I had problems with my sink and my toilet in the bathroom too. If you flush toilet paper down the toilet, it stops it from flushing. These were the biggest problems that made me check out early...
Read moreI wish I had read more of the reviews and tips from other travelers before booking a room here. Our room was facing the street which was too loud for me to get much rest. The next morning I asked to change to quieter room but they were all booked so I ended up buying ear plugs from the Farmatodo just up the street which blocked all the noise on my second night. The hotel should provide these complimentary in the loud rooms.||Other issues included bathroom door getting stuck upon opening and closing and make a loud noise in the process. Our bathroom sink faucet was loose and when I tried to tighten it myself, I found significant amounts of mold under the sink. The toilet seat doesn't fit the toilet very well and feels like it's about to break every time you sit on it. Speaking of the toilet, it was painfully slow at flushing and often required 2 rounds for a proper flush because it was so weak. There is a window between the bathroom and bedroom with a translucent film that is peeling off in the corners which was tacky and not great for bathroom privacy. The plates and utensils were dirty. There was literally crusted food on the forks. Lastly, there was a smoke detector chirping down the hall because it just needed a new battery..such an easy fix that nobody attended to during our 2-night stay.. ||If these issues are addressed, it would be a good value for the money but as of now, I wish I had a different room or stayed elsewhere. Some positives are that the bedroom was spacious; there was hot water, shampoo, and liquid soap in the shower; the hardwood floors did not creek; the WiFi was decent, the breakfast to the room was a nice touch and the little gardens in the...
Read moreA nice small hotel in Chapinero. This area is very busy and not very safe at night. Walking around during the day is fine but at night it can be dodgy, so take taxis or Uber after 8pm. Rooms are fairly comfortable and clean, in a you-get-what-you-pay-for sort of way. Beds and pillows are a bit uncomfortable, and the cleanliness is acceptable. The furniture is modern looking but it has definitely seen better days. Overall it lacks maintenance. The rooms facing the street are extremely noisy, avoid if you want to have a good night’s sleep. The walls are thin so you will hear most of what your neighbors do. Some rooms have shared patios and don’t offer privacy. If you’re very worried about safety or are traveling alone, you might not feel very safe in the rooms (no additional locks or bolt on the doors, and the handles of the doors leading to the patios are flimsy) or in the Chapinero area. Their service makes up for most of these things, though. Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast is included and they take it to your room, they offer some variety and the quality is good. I would only recommend the rooms that are not facing the street, and the ones with balcony or private patio. Wi-Fi was good in the 2nd floor. If you have luggage, keep in mind there’s no elevator (but they will help you with...
