Hotel Express 53 — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Location: The hotel is located on a short walking distance from the Calle 57 Transmilenio station. There are grocery stores and cheap diners right outside. The area does not have a shady vibe.||||Room: The room was small but in good condition. The rain type shower had great water pressure. The room also had a large window and an equally large bathroom mirror. There's an electric outlet near the bed. The bed was adequate, neither terrible or great.||||Noise level: The room was not sound proofed in any way, and traffic from Calle 53 could get pretty loud even on the 6th floor. There were also some noise from other guests in the corridors and other rooms, once even at night.||||Internet: The 5Mb WiFi in the room was stable enough for casual use, but a bit spotty for work. The best WiFi is found in the 9th floor restaurant . The reception area WiFi did not work at all.||||Breakfast: A piece of white bread and scrambled eggs made to order with a choice between two available fillings of the day, usually some variation of ham, cheese, or maize. The rest was buffet style with butter, fresh fruit, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and fruit juice, but no milk. Breakfast is served at the 9th floor restaurant which is quite nice with a panorama view over the city.||||Staff: None of the restaurant or cleaning staff spoke any English, and as far as I'm aware, neither did the reception staff. Perfect for a short stay. I had an overnight transit and needed a place to stay for the night and this place fit the bill. It's cheap and looks nice. I got a room on fifth floor and my room was clean and in order, pretty much exactly like the photos. The rooms have hot water so that's a plus. The staff spoke English and they where polite so I had no issues. Breakfast was included in the rent and the dining hall on the top floor was impeccable and looked really nice with live plants on every table. The view of the city is really nice. The only drawback this hotel has, by my experience is it's location, which is in the corner of a busy intersection so here's a bit much traffic noise, hence the four stars. If you need absolute silence and wake up of a pin needle dropping to the floor this is not the place for you but if you can zone out the background noise then...

Tube una experiencia horrible en esta estadia. El desayuno estaba por raciones, no agua caliente en la ducha, no me dejaban subir mis amistades y si subian era por 1 sola hora.
