Hostal Rich — Hotel in Medellín

Silvia at Hostal Rich was fabulous! So kind to let us in early when we arrived off a night bus from Popayán, we hoped to deposit our bags and then have to head out to see the sights, Silvia met us with coffee and showed us to our room even though it was only 6 in the morning. We were able to shower and nap before heading out. She also let us leave our bags our final day and grab a quick shower again before catching another night bus out of Medellín at the end of our stay! Silvia was great with advice of what to see and do while in Medellín, and always helpful and pleasant to talk with. ||Hostal Rich is in a great location, just two blocks off Carrera 70 with loads of eateries and bars and 3 blocks from the metro, it's easy to get to other parts of the city, while being situated in a quite neighborhood allowing tired travelers to relax and get good sleep at night. The hostel is kept clean and tidy, there are several common areas for hanging out or relaxing. ||The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is good located, 5 minutes walking form a large supermarket/shopping center, 70 street (restaurants and bars) and the Metro. |What more do you want.||The Hostal is big with spacious rooms on three floors. Each floor has a communal room where you can hang around or watch some tv. The top floor has a terrace/balcony with a hammock. ||Our room was on the ground floor and wouldn’t choose it again because of the noise. You can hear everything people say in the communal rooms and kitchen. We stayed at the Hostal Rich for 8 nights, so for quite a long time. We were welcomed by the lovely housekeeper Silvia, who always had helpful tips and advices for us and helped anytime she could. The accomodation was spacious for two people, we had a spare bed which we could use as a storing place. The room was cleaned once during our stay, the hostel and the kitchen were always clean. There are three fridges and numerous bathrooms that can be used by the travellers.
