My wife and I stayed here for three nights. The first night, they placed us in a very nice, clean and spacious room. We were in the room for about two hours before we realized the a/c was barely functional. It just wasn't getting cold. We called the front desk and they sent a young man up to look at it. He said it was working as it should. Meanwhile, I was drenched in sweat. So the front desk clerk had him bring a portable "air conditioner" which was nothing but an over glorified fan. It basically just circulated the hot air in the room. We asked for a different room with a functional a/c, which they provided. It was a much smaller and less modern room, but the a/c worked a little better. Not as it should but barely enough to keep it comfortable. Next night I reserved a hot tub room. Again, it was a very nice and spacious room, but again, the a/c wasn't functioning correctly. It would cool for about three minutes and then stop cooling for about 20. Also, the fridge didn't function, so they brought another one that cooled for about 30 minutes until it quit completely. So they brought ANOTHER fridge. Finally, it worked as it should. The same young man as the night before brought the second fridge. While he was there, we told him the a/c wasn't working. Now, get this, he told us it was functioning as it should and that the reason it was hot in the room was because of the amount of body heat my wife and I were giving off..... SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? Anyway, again, we requested a different room. The front desk clerk approved it but said it was a smaller room. Ok, no problem. So we moved next door. I didn't care as long as the a/c worked, which it did.....The first night. Oh, and the hot tub jets would only stay on if you held the button down..... whatever. We decided to stay another night since at least the a/c worked. Told them about the problem with the hot tub. The same young man said to just push the button once when the tub was full and it would stay on..... WRONG! Of course after all the a/c problems we could only expect the same again. Of course, the ac started doing the same thing as the one from the previous night. Hell with it. We were done. It was a cooler night outside, so it didn't get too hot in the room. Now its the next night and we've switched to Hotel OBO not far away. Should have done it sooner, lesson learned. Its a newer hotel and everything works perfectly, including the A/C! Highly...
Read moreThis is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Our flight arrived at 7am and we got to the hotel around 8. They said check in was at 3. We asked if we could check in early and they said they had rooms available but it would be $25 (105k COP) to check in early at 11am. I have never paid to check in early. The woman at the front desk was very rude too. She watched us wait outside the whole time waiting for checkin, we were too tired to go anywhere.
Second day, the same lady at the front desk told us elevator would be down for maintenance for approx 1 hour at 1pm. We went out for 3 hours and when we returned the elevator was still down for maintenance. I asked her what’s the matter, she told me it was still down for maintenance and turned away, very disrespectful.
There is no refrigerator in the room, no ice machines on the floors. No gymnasium as advertised, closed for maintenance. The hairdryer in the room didn’t work. On a Friday night, if you plan to sleep don’t expect to until around 4am. The hotel is next door to a discoteca and the music goes right through the walls plus the sounds from the local bars and the rooms don’t have soundproof windows.
I would not recommend this...
Read moreIf you are travelling to explore Medellin and this place is giving you a cheap price - it may be worth it. My room was on the first floor, which for some weird reason has a design with windows in the room that open INSIDE of the common space of the hotel. So if someone is sitting in the common area talking even quietly you WILL hear them. In the morning 6am people are in the lobby daily and cooking, so you will be awoken at 6am if this is the case. Wifi was good. Space was clean. Television functional. The hair dryer did not work. Ample towels and clean bathroom. Signage says that jacuzzi can be booked with 15 min anticipation - staff said it had to be three hours notice? And then said its closed at 9pm. Making it difficult to see the point of a jacuzzi if it requires both so much forethought and you can’t be in there at night time. Emailed management to clarify conflicting signage and never got a response. Breakfast is very basic, I’d actually recommend you pay for breakfast elsewhere as this wasn’t anything special. Located in a central location - east to get to and walk around. Neighbourhood...
