Strongly advise that you do NOT book this property directly via their website. Made a reservation via the website (as it was cheaper), but was then informed I would receive a WhatsApp message with payment instructions. When reviewing the attached contract, I discovered that, upon arrival, I would be required to pay a COP $1,500,000 damage deposit in cash, even though no mention was made of this on the website. This is incredibly suspect and inconvenient - obviously, they insist that the deposit be in cash so you cannot dispute it via your credit card company - but furthermore, who carries that amount of cash in Colombia? Most ATMs don't even dispense that much cash, and what are you to do with it even if they refund you? An unbelievable imposition on guests and, worse still, when I decided to cancel because of this, the contact identified on the website had no idea how to cancel my reservation, and even confirmed that had I made it within their two-week cancellation window, I would have been out of luck. Fortunately, another contact at the property was able to cancel the reservation - but even then, could not provide confirmation of this. Of note, I actually spoke to some guests of the property when I was in Medellin, and they mentioned they encountered none of this after booking through third-party websites - which may also explain why there was no mention of it in the reviews I saw prior to booking (although I now see some mention a deposit). Moral of the story: Do not book this...
Read moreI give Factory five stars because of the location, value, and staff. I stayed here for several weeks, actually a couple of months 😆...
(1) Location: In the heart of one of the most enduring party areas of the city. When I say enduring, I mean at least 3am during the week and 6am on the weekend. If you want to roll out of the party and into your bed without having to take a cab, then this is the place for you!
(2) Value: I started out by booking through a certain app until I learned the secret that you get better prices from the front desk (usually it's the other way around). They even hooked me up with free housekeeping a few times (just be sure to leave a nice tip). I also stayed in three different room types (the corner was my favorite).
(3) Staff: Literally everyone is friendly and courteous at Factory. Beginning with the property manager, Mariana, to the great housekeeping associates, to the maintenance team (who I only needed to see in passing because everything in my rooms worked great), and to the excellent front desk staff. Honorable mention🎖goes to Sebastián at the front desk. He greats everyone with a bright smile, remembers names, and tells you all of the good secrets about Medellín.
All in all, I had a very lovely...
Read moreWell let’s be honest with this: I have been visiting Medellin for last five years with extensive strays in hotels, and rental houses, so based on my experiences , want to be very honest with this review. The location is very good, and it’s on El 70 street! Lots of Restaurants, and music, but if you are not Colombians, you would not be able to minds in ( all Colombian families!!, and you have to take a long taxi ride to tourists area in El Poblado). The suite is very small and basically no fun to spend time in it. The crew that run the place are extremely friendly, and my best experiences was to have a great small caffe of Smash, and a great brewery BBC right next to it. Comparing price wise , the rent almost is equal to the price of a normal good hotel room in El Poblado with much more facilities for tourists. My next trip most likely will stay in El Poblado!!. I was considering of buying , but the price of small studios are extremely over price 450 million pesos for a room! ( I was before leasing a two bedrooms beautifully located on 19th floor of a hight rise in Las Palmas which was offered it to me for purchase 440 million pesos!!!! . With surge of international tourist looking for fun to Medellin, rental properties are...
