La GrutaColiving — Hotel in Medellín

I didn't like this place too much and wouldn't go again.

First of all, the girls who are managing the place do a great job in terms of cleaning and maintaining it, they get those two stars.

However, calling this a coliving is a bit cheeky. There is hardly any space where people can meet, everyone is just hanging in their room - and they are dark because no external windows. Not very welcoming.

And yeah, when I go for a coliving, I am looking for a community. This is by no means the case here, it's simply a place for travelers, nothing else.

I don't mind being in a more authentic neighborhood which some people might perceive as unsafe but the noise and traffic...

I’ve been coming to Colombia for quite a few years. I prefer to stay in Central because it doesn’t have that Coca-Cola tourist feeling. My experiences in La Gruta have been spectacular. There’s a genuine sense of community there and having the co-working space is available during the day to get business done as well as the code living spaces in the night for a conversation and camaraderie is the perfect mix.

I recommend this space to travelers we’re looking for authenticity but still enjoy the luxury of a hot shower and the privacy of your own...

I’ve been to Medellin a few times now and really enjoyed staying in both Central and La Gruta as you get a way better feel of Colombian community compared to Poblado. The small apartments and shared common spaces at La Gruta are always clean and equipped with everything you need, and the staff is very friendly and helpful! Was really easy to work remotely with all the cowork spaces. Will definitely stay again on my next...
