Hotel Edmar — Hotel in Santa Marta

This was a very decent hotel for the price in Rodadero. Excellent location. Only a few mins from the beach, bars and restaurants. It felt safe walking around late at night.||||The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. The shower was nice and hot. The cable tv only had channels in Spanish so a bit pointless for international travellers. This hotel seems to cater to Colombian families, with the pool and the play area.||||The breakfast was simple but tasty, fruit, eggs, arepas, fried rice, coffee etc.||||The WiFi was pretty appalling to be honest, at worst it disconnected every 5 to 10 seconds. This is really something the management need to sort out.||||On the whole good service from the staff, although not always friendly, and I noticed one of the receptionists giving my boyfriend dirty looks on several occasions (maybe because he has a lot of tattoos which doesn't seem to be commonplace in Colombia) which I did...

My husband and I needed a place to spend the night and found Hotel Edmar. We ended up liking it so much we stayed 5 nights.||||The staff were wonderful. They didn't speak great English but they tried very hard and were very inventive (one used Google translate on the desktop computer when we got stuck).||||The food was wonderful. Despite being included in the price, for breakfast they asked you what you wanted and always served fresh juice. It was better than most of the food in Santa Marta.||||When we were there there was no elevator, but they were installing one. La verdad bastante regular el servicio que brinda este hotel, para el precio que cobran por una habitación no lo vale. Fui con mi familia, en cuanto entramos a la habitación nos decepcionamos al instante, en los videos y fotos prometen otra cosa y cuando se llega allí no es nada de lo visto, la habitación bastante básica parecía más lugar de residencia o motel que una habitación de hotel y el precio nada que ver, las paredes sucias, una almohada manchada en la esquina, siempre olía a humedad la habitación. En la descripción de booking dice que cuentan con televisor de pantalla plana, wifi gratis algo totalmente falso, el tv es algo pequeño antiguo y el wifi todo con clave. El baño tiene una regadera de tubo, nada sofisticado. Dice que tienen tipo bufete desayuno y cena pero no es así es un solo menú para todos. Nos humillaron frente a otros huéspedes por 2 toallas, porque debido al mar el tinte del cabello tiende a caerse, a la fuerza nos querían cobrar 30 mil por cada toalla nos ofrecimos a lavar las toallas y nos daban negativas, las pudimos lavar, fue simplemente lavarlas con un quitamanchas y un suavizante, quitaron al instante. Lo que no hablan es que ni lavan las toallas, lo que hacen es como remojarlas en agua y guardarlas, nos cambiaban las toallas día de por medio cuando lo general es a diario y cuando lo hacían las toallas siempre olían a humedad y a guardado, un olor totalmente desagradable.

Cada vez que iban a hacer el aseo, solo tendían las camas y medio trapeaban, de resto aveces el baño no lo limpiaban.

1 sola papelera para toda la habitación y era la del baño, una papelera pequeña, que se llenaba con nada, obvio se sentía el mal olor porque papelera del baño y de la habitación al mismo tiempo super incomodo.

Y el servicio del personal de lo peor, nunca sonríen, son super insípidos y secos para hablar, nada de actitud de servicio ni comercial.

Lo único bueno es que queda cerca al mar como a 3 cuadras y hay buen...
