Love Beach Hostel — Hotel in Taganga

I was apprehensive booking this place because of the huge range of good/bad past reviews. We ended up having a great stay and this has to be one of the best value accommodations in Taganga.

Our room had a private bathroom and aircon! There were also "flycreens" on the windows, which meant we could leave them open without worrying about mosquitoes coming in. The beds and pillows were decently comfortable and there was enough space for our large backpacks (though overall, a pretty tight space)

The wifi worked relatively well, good for Taganga standards. It rarely dropped out, though could get slow sometimes, and was good enough for us to have zoom/web phone calls. There were also enough shared and breezy spots to work from. The pool was a nice bonus to be able to jump in on hot afternoons!

The breakfast was a nice way to start the day. There wasn't much variation but for the price, getting eggs and arepas/bread daily was good value.

I thought it was pretty great in terms of location, not a far walk to the main beach and restaurants. We stayed in a different area of Taganga too and I thought Love Beach Hostel's location felt safer. Also much closer to the bus stop to Santa Marta. Would recommend if you're looking for a no frills, reliable...

La dueña de la tienda de granizados (Julieth) es muy bonita, es muy chevere como persona, creo que me gustó XD. Pero ya en serio, el sitio está bien ubicado. En esa tienda del hotel hay granizados que se ven poco en Santa Marta y demás productos, y seran atendidos de la mejor forma por ella, se la recomiendo. Al frente hay canchas para el que quiera jugar con la gente de por ahí en la noche (futbol, baloncesto) (por jugar descalzo me hize ampollas XD). Las habitaciones son buenas, tienen lo suficiente, la suit tambien es muy chevere, mas amplia. Me gustó que uno puede usar la cocina. Comprando lo necesario para cocinar se puede ahorrar mucho dinero en comida. Hay muchos juegos de mesa, piscina y un bafle bluetooth para poner musica. Oviamente hay aire acondicionado. Aprovechen la cocina no solo para preparar alimentos sino tambien para hablar con gente nueva como extranjeros y eso, algunos son muy amigables. El sitio es muy acogedor, no solo por el hotel sino tambien por lo que está ubicado en un pueblo acogedor como Taganga. (La de la foto es Julieth XD, ese negocio tambien está en el camino a la...

Lamentablemente, mi experiencia en este hostel fue totalmente decepcionante. Desde el momento en que llegué, noté que las habitaciones estaban sucias y mal cuidadas. Los ventiladores apenas funcionaban, lo que hizo que las noches fueran sofocantes y difíciles de soportar.

Además, las camas estaban en pésimo estado, con colchones desgastados y sábanas desgarradas. No había ninguna comodidad ni cuidado en la infraestructura del lugar.

El servicio del personal fue igual de decepcionante. No mostraron interés en atender nuestras necesidades y no estaban dispuestos a resolver los problemas que surgieron durante nuestra estancia.

En general, este hostel carecía de la calidad mínima que uno espera al buscar un lugar donde hospedarse. No lo recomendaría en absoluto a nadie que busque una experiencia agradable y cómoda...
