(Partially) VERY (!!!) dirty: The cushions on the rooftop and the couch in my room were covered in disgustingly dirty spots. I wouldn't even put my bag on this, it grossed me out. The eating tables were not cleaned very often (smoke buds laying around on it that were there last evening too) Thin mattress NO control over A/C: It automatically starts around 8 p.m. / lasts until 11 a.m. NO single place to be found without music blasting until late night. You can clearly hear the music in your room (music starts around 12 a.m.). Drinks are too expensive (small coke: 5000). NO outside drinks allowed, someone told me.
+/- food: okayish prices from 24h available kitchen: Small and (too) simple breakfast around 12k, tasty meal around 17k.
The bathrooms and the beds were in good shape at all times. beautiful design of living space with pool, cute lights and billiard. The rooftop place is just a beauty if it weren't for the dirty cushions.
Guests: Mostly party tourists I met here, real chill vibes not to be found at my moment of stay. Some broken guys here. Stories about nights out with sketchy people and sketchy alleys. But also stories of good parties :).
Overall: I got the impression that this is what you mostly get here in taganga. I came here for diving, but everything else was quite the disappointment. I usually like to chill and connect with people ......
Read moreI have mixed reviews on Hostel Nirvana. For the most part cool place, helpful staff, good food, affordable rooms. They've got a nice pool and a great deck up top to watch the sunset. The few complaints I have are the rooms, the vibes, and the tours. We got put in this house next door which didn't have anything in it, no tables, nightstands, hooks or anything, just a mattress. I think they just bought it? It was weird to be separated from the actual hostel, but it was nice to have quiet because they play music at the hostel pretty late. The vibes were odd, many Israelis visit this hostel and while the few we talked to were nice, they vibes were very clique-like. We like to meet people at hostels and that was clearly not the vibe here. Lastly, they say they offer tours, but they need a minimum amount of folks arrange it, so although we kept asking to do one, they could never get enough people to go. Overall, I think this is definitely one of the better hostels in Taganga and they have the potential to be really awesome, just don't expect to make...
Read moreI wanted to write about my experience visiting the nirvana hostel in taganga in the last week
First of all, the crew is amazing! Soecially Diana and Renny who made me really feel at home and helped me with everything i needed! And they have a oerfect english which is rare here!
There is a nice pool here, 24 hours restaurant, laundry services (which came back smelling great), cool living space and everything we needed for a good atmosphere. There are also lockers outside of the rooms.
The menu is rich and also perfect for vegetarian people like me but i do have one complain about it- some of the portions you get are pretty small for the price you pay (also comparing to nirvana hostel in san gil and other hostels iv'e been at)
There is wifi here which sometimes works good and sometimes doesn't at all, the pool is not the cleanest iv'e seen but overall- great hostel, great stuff, i really reccomend...
