This hotel is so beautiful! We were welcomed with a WhatsApp message before our arrival, which was a nice personal touch, asking “What kind of milk do you want in your fridge?” |As soon as we arrived the staff was friendly and check in was smooth and easy. No keys, just a key pad on the door - that’s handy! The room is beautiful - king size garden room, which was also open right to the pool. Every little touch has been thoughtfully placed and you can tell. The bed and pillows are so comfortable! We had a great sleep. Great shower with 2 shower heads and good water pressure. Fresh ground Coffee is available to make in the room. Continental breakfast is served when you wish to have it - first morning was a large basket of delicious pastries, (which we finished off as a snack later), a big bowl of fresh fruit and orange juice. All served to your room, or in the bar seating area.|The second morning was a choice that pastries or a more traditional breakfast of pinto, bread and your choice of sides. The bar is a lovely addition, and drinks were great. Our bartender was super, serving us delicious drinks while we lounged by the pool. All of the staff appear to be working very hard to ensure a comfortable and clean stay. The rooms|And grounds are so clean! |They have a private parking lot with security at night. It is Walkable to the Jaco walk strip of shopping/bars/restaurants but we chose to uber due to heat and amount of walking on the strip. Cheap and quick Ubers are readily available. The beach is a minutes walk away just down the street. |I highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting JACO at any point. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful little corner of|Paradise! Pura Vida! Gracias to everyone at Amavi for a...

The direct pool-and-bar access from our room? Iconic.|Fofo, Amavi’s fabulous bartender made me a drink I ordered again and again: The Riddle-tropical, tangy, refreshing cocktail. It’s bright, a little flirty, and goes down dangerously easy. Priced at $10, it’s worth every colón.|Back in our cozy room, I indulged in all the @rawbotanicals products provided-handmade in CR-the star of the show: Mango Dream Cream. Yes, I will be buying it in bulk. Don’t judge! |Climbing into what might just be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, I had a moment of pure awe. I decided to go surfing in Jaco for a couple of days, which is frankly the only reason I'd expose my pale Scandinavian skin to the sun.
I've never stayed in Jaco but have heard some things, things that put safety pretty high on the list when choosing my place to stay. I also might have double-checked my life insurance policy to be fair.
Jokes aside, I arrived and Amavi looked even better than the pictures. What immediately apparent is the amount of love, care, planning and execution that went into this place.
Boutique is something that has been severely diluted over the years, but make no mistake. Amavi embodies the word Boutique. The fittings in the bathroom are premium, the colour schemes are on point, even the plants in the room are real!
Might sound silly, but the amount of times I've touched a plant and realized it's a dusty plastic palm tree from Temu, I've basically lost hope.
Steph and Luke has done this right, and they were super welcoming and helpful (with the rest of the staff) since the moment I arrived.
For the price you pay, it's a steal, just a block away from the beach. Worth every penny and I will for...
