If you are looking for an affordable yet amazing resort to stay in Costa Rica, I recommend Hotel El Silencio del Campo. As we first arrived plenty of parking for each guest, and checking in was easy. They spoke English, making the entire experience easier. The reception desk was very well detailed on parking, activities, tours, shuttles and food. Upon entering our room, provided in all rooms a mini fridge which had a freezer above, an AC to use during the night or day if you stayed to choose at the hotel, robes, towels and most importantly, a safe box to keep passports, jewelry, and money. A restaurant in the resort provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our stay only provided breakfast free for our visit everything else was charged to our room and paid at check out. Silencio del Campo is also kid-friendly. They had a farm which had many animals: horses, cows, chickens, ducks, goats and sheep. Activities close by were the La Fortuna waterfall, ATV, hiking a trail to the Arenal Volcano, ziplining through a waterfall, Horseback Riding, and Mistico Hanging Bridges. Food was great, breakfast had a buffet but also a menu to order for children or basic eggs and toast and some Costa Rican breakfast. Plenty of car parking and 24/7 security to leave cars during the day to go and do activities away from the hotel. Unfortunately, we had an activity that went past our checkout time, and thankfully, the front desk was able to accommodate us, and we were able to leave our suitcases at the front desk till we arrived back at the hotel. Thermal springs were in the very back, with plenty of chairs and mini huts to relax. Shuttle was also available at the hotel, but not sure if they charged for each trip. But we had a car rental with Adobe Rental Car. Recommend getting a car rental, it is much easier to get to places, explore shops and food rather than relying on shuttles and taxis. Lots of food in town nearby, but probably a 30-minute walk vs 5 5-minute drive. Overall, loved our stay at Hotel El Silencio del Campo. Recommend staying here for an affordable yet...
Read moreLOVED this hotel! enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend! was first greeted with very friendly reception, everyone and all the staff there is very nice & friendly! the place is very well kept and clean with beautiful pathways and greenery all around! there is a farm where you can collect eggs and milk the cows early in the morning if you’re up for it or you can visit the animals anytime during the day! they have lots of animals from peacocks, lambs, cows, horses, ducks, chickens, turkeys, roosters, but my favorite is their pig BELLAAA!!! bella is soooo cute and adorable! they let her out occasionally (i believe everyday during noon ish) so she roams around the villa and eats grass for hours until she decides to return to the farm lol, you can find her out in the wild or visit her in the farm 💗 there is about 20-25 rooms total with LOTS of pools available, over 6 (3 hot springs, 1 jacuzzi, 2 normal pools, and a thermal spa) so theres many places to swim or go in the water! all are very beautiful! you can also order drinks there, we got a few smoothies all were very yummy and prices were fair! breakfast is included and complimentary, freshly made to order (eggs, pancakes, waffles, toast, etc) and there are waiters/ servers to bring you the food! fruit, drinks, and yogurt are on a separate table self serve, everything was very fresh and yummy! they put fruit rinds out on a tree for the birds to eat 🤍 the room itself was great as well, designed well and pretty! only small complaint was the doors, they dont stay closed so everytime you go in or out you have to lock it with a key which can get a bit annoying, but everything else in the room was great no complaints! you can also see the volcano from here (if you’re lucky and its not raining or cloudy lol)! overall would highly recommend and will come back if i ever get the chance! staff and everyone was very friendly if i didnt mention...
Read moreThis is one of the most calm and peaceful places I have ever stayed. The sounds of nature, the natural hot springs, the birds and squirrels that accompany you outside the restaurant at breakfast every morning... the staff even puts little pieces of fruit on bush branches for the small animals to enjoy. And their farm! They have a little farm, from which the restaurant draws all its vegetables, eggs, and cheese that they use to make delicious breakfasts and more. We walked over to the farm and the different staff members that work there proudly showed us the food and animals they tend to.
In addition to the grounds and friendly staff, they are incredibly helpful and innovative. I say this because I decided to take the opportunity of our stay to propose to my girlfriend of 3.5 years. I called and spoke with one of the head receptionists, Elio, and told him about my plans and desire to set up a romantic evening to propose. Elio, along with Raúl, Jonny, Carlos, May helped to arrange a beautiful setup next to a hot spring, with lights, dinner, and even a hidden GoPro camera to help record my proposal. It was spectacular! They were so helpful and proud to make it a special night for the two of us, and I couldn't recommend them more highly. I was thrilled, and they were clearly so happy to help make it a truly unforgettable night and stay.
Come to Hotel El Silencio and you will have the most peaceful, romantic, relaxing stay surrounded by nature and a lovely staff who know what true hospitality looks like. Thanks to...
