My friend and I stayed at Espadilla Gardens during our trip last week. We both agreed that the hotel was really nice. We actually were happy that we ended up at Espadilla Gardens as opposed to the other side of the property, Hotel Playa Espadilla, which is a short walk away and also is where the restaurant is located. The food and cocktails we had in the hotel restaurant were all delicious. We stayed in Room 9, which was on the far corner and allowed us to see a few animals from the patio outside our room! The hotel is a short walk from the beach and also from the entrance to the National Park, both of which were extremely convenient. It was about a 5 minute cab ride from almost everywhere else in Manuel Antonio. The employees at the hotel were very welcoming and professional. At one point, the gentleman working reception found out that we would be missing the included breakfast the next morning and offered to have boxed breakfasts made for us the night before, which we appreciated! My friend and I both agreed that we would stay at the property again and recommend it to friends. The only issue we had while we were there is that the TV seemed to need a software update, so we were unable to sign into Netflix or other streaming platforms. We did not make them aware of this issue, though. So they did not have a chance to fix it. Also, sidenote, if you need a taxi while staying there, be sure to ask for Luis with the red cabs! He was our go-to taxi driver while there and he was almost always available via What'sApp! (: He stopped to show us several animals while driving us around including a sloth! And he stopped at crocodile bridge on the way to the airport so that we could take pictures. 😊

Decent hotel with good value for money (booking via Agoda). The room was fairly dark and nothing to write home about, but clean. Our room was close to a neighbouring hotel that played music all afternoon and evening every day, making afternoon rest difficult. Some construction in the area added to the noise. In comparison to everywhere else in Costa Rica, staff friendliness left a little to be desired. We weren't asked how our stay was at the end despite us mentioning the noise issue and restaurant wait staff were slightly curt. The main point in favour is the location (being just a minute away on foot from the beach is great, but the area is flooded with locals trying to sell you things or even scam you if you're not careful). The wildlife inside the hotel itself was wonderful to see and makes up for a lot.

Wonderful and very helpful staff. Amazing location. Walking distance to many restaurants, the beach, and the National Park. Access to sister hotel’s free breakfast, access to two pools. Staff helped us book our tours in the area (transportation included). Rooms were okay! Dark, A/C, smart tv (some apps didn’t work but you’re in Costa Rica so tv shouldn’t matter). Our door had a slight opening that made me nervous about bugs but we were totally fine! We saw monkeys hanging around and lots of animals. Staff communicated well and helped with any problems we may have had quickly and efficiently. Would recommend.

We had a great stay at Hotel Playa Espadilla & Gardens. We stayed there for 3 nights. Our room was very clean and had all the amenities we needed.

The staff were really nice and incredibly helpful. We booked a guided tour of the national park with the hotel and they also helped us book an airport transfer. You can book different kinds of excursions and tours with them.

In addition, the hotel has an amazing location, it is so close to the beach and the national park. We didn't need to use any form of taxi while we stayed there since the area has everything we were looking for.

We also enjoyed using hotel's pool. You could see so much wildlife just around the hotel or the pool area which we loved.

The breakfast offered by the hotel contains a lot of delicious options. The hotel's restaurant is a great option for lunch and dinner as well. I would definitely recommend staying here, it is an...

This hotel has a sister property 3 min away… don’t be fooled… this hotel is the smaller one without the bar and restaurant. The rooms here are very small. We stayed in room 7 and it was so tiny!!!! Asked to be move to a different room the both hotels were booked because of the Easter holiday. The AC work great and the shower was hot and had great pressure. The door to the room has no door handle it just has a lock so you always have to lock it or your door opens. Also they only had 1 key for my whole family to use. It was difficult if my husband was surfing and we wanted to go to breakfast my husband would be locked out. Also the key has a big annoying piece of coconut on it as a key chain. You can walk to the MA national park!! If we ever came back it would want to stay at the sister hotel Espadilla...
