Restaurante El Barco — Restaurant in Quepos

We came here to eat once and it was great. The food was good and the service was good...the next time we ordered the Tuna burrito thinking it was the same thing as the Tuna wrap. It is hard to tell because there is no ingredients listed. When we told them that is not what we wanted they said there is nothing they can do and charged us for the burrito we didn't want and we ended up giving away. The next time there were people popping fire crackers next to us while we were trying to eat, making for it to be a very uncomfortable meal. We had ordered a side of vegetables and it didn't come out with the meal and after we were done eating still didn't get it. We just said we didn't need the veggies anymore. We tried it one more time only to get a wrap that was ripped open and had totally different ingredients and the tuna was overcooked when before it has a lot of pink. SCAM ALERT!!!! We stopped by Playa Espadilla to surf for an hour after visiting the National park. I was sitting a little down the beach from the beach steps across their business and the waiter approached me on the beach offering to serve me drinks there on the beach. Initially I declined because we didn’t plan to stay long, but when my friends decided to stay for sunset we asked him if the offer still stood. He agreed and led us down to four beach chairs and took our order. Our drinks were tasty, but not strong. When we went to pay he charged our card $122 USD, stating the reason for the $40 upcharge as “chair rental fee.” I’m highly disappointed that what seemed like a reputable establishment would engage in such a tourist trap. Dishonest and expensive. I really should learn to read reviews before I go to a place. This restaurant represents everything that is bad about Manuel Antonio. As has been mentioned before the menu doesn't include any taxes and only states tax not included. They then add 10% tax but this should be called service and then the IVA. So 23% on your bill.
