I walked by this restaurant multiple times, and every single time they had people working hard to sell the place, so I caved and went in. The food was honestly really great.

I went during dinner when there were only 3 other small tables already dining and I got a great service, food took a while to arrive but that’s just Costa Rica. Everyone was friendly and they checked on me multiple times to refill my drink and to see if I wanted anything else. By the time I sat down and received my entree there was a couple who received the complete opposite treatment. They were essentially ignored after the entire time. Once they finally worked up the courage to flag a server down for their checks it took more than 15 mins. This wouldn’t be an issue but there were 5 servers standing behind the couple’s table laughing and chatting up while the couple looked visibly frustrated. (Now I don’t know what happened prior to my arriving, i noted this so that you are aware that service may vary)

I ordered the calamari appetizer and the Seafood fried rice. Both tastes fresh and good! The seafood rice only had shrimp and scallops with one mussels, for the price I would’ve wanted more variety and larger portions. The side of fries didn’t taste fresh or hot. Its a good place but nothing is peaking my interest to...

We came a couple (very hungry 🙃) to eat dinner, I ordered fish burger that was written on the menu that comes breaded (no choice). we waited for the food and when it arrived it wasn’t as described, it came just fried fillet and I told to the nice waiter that its not what’s written in the menu, he was very nice and told me it depends how you ask for it (they didnt ask) but he did ask me if i wanted to replace, I felt uncomfortable so I told him I’ll try it anyway. The fish was very watery, definitely not what you’d expect from a fish burger. It felt very weird.. finally my boyfriend told them and they try to fix it and it’s really returned breaded after but again the fish itself feels just the same.. i tried one bite and dropped it and just snacked some fries.. when my boyfriend finished his burrito dish that was Ok we asked for the bill. Many of waiters saw my plate and nobody asked if all is fine or if maybe I want it to take away (I didnt want). After we paid the full bill they take off the plates and we leaved. I stayed very hungry so we went to another restaurant close by and then I ate my dinner when my boyfriend waited for me. Their prices are ok and including all the taxes that is nice but it doesn’t worth it if this is your experience- bottom line- we paid double and wasted...

Came here after a long day in Manuel Antonio National Park after checking out both here and the next door restaurant, Buru. Marlin’s prices include tax, and I can enjoy the live music at Buru from a distance (I usually find live music to be too loud or too amateur—and I say this as a live musician myself lol).

I don’t know what they put in their chicken soup, but man, it was tasty and so hearty. It was rich and flavorful, and they give you a side of rice so you can enjoy it with your soup. I wish I had a picture. But it’s the best chicken soup I’ve had!

We also ordered pina coladas, and they were ok. They had 2 for 1 drinks, but it had to be 2 of the same drink in order to redeem the special.

I ordered a surf and turf and it was tasty. The shrimp came with a great garlic butter sauce. The steak seemed like a cheaper cut, or maybe it was previously frozen, not sure—the texture seemed kinda stringy and soft. It came with chimichurri. My husband got the shrimp scampi and asked for them to add pesto in it, and they delivered. It needed some more salt and black pepper but it was also good. I recommend going here after your day at PNMA! You’ll also see capuchin monkeys across the street or even crossing the electrical...

Really good! If you’re trying to eat relatively cheap but good quality this place is great (nothing is super cheap here bc it’s Costa Rica and it’s not like Mexico). Right by the beach staff is very nice and service was good. We went twice during our trip. The bruschetta (pesto and tomatoes) was to die for (got both times)! We also got the combination plate (fish, calamari, squid, chicken, and steak with tortillas) was a pretty good deal 10,000 cólones for a huge plate enough to take home and yummy (got twice). Ceviche was pretty good for like 3,600 cólones (got twice). And lastly I got the Casado con pescado (mahi-mahi, rice and beans, salad, plantains, tortilla, and veggies) the only thing I didn’t really like about that dish were the vegetables that looked like they were canned or frozen. Also I highly recommend getting the fruit juice we tried guanábana, banana, and maracuyá (can get w milk or water). All in all this was the best place we tried on our trip that wasn’t ridiculously expensive.

We truly enjoyed our experience at this establishment. The staff, particularly Roberto, was very friendly yet efficient. The food and the drinks came out very quickly, and we enjoyed every single dish we ordered. We had the calamari and the ceviche as appetizers. Both were delicious. For main meal, I had the grilled sea bass wrapped in banana leaf, my wife had the fried red snapper, and my daughter had the shrimp pasta. All three were tasty, but the grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves was the highlight. We finished our meal with a Flan de Coco, which was also delicious. The only disappointment was the fries that accompanied the fish. They were just Ok. Next time I would go for the sautéed vegetables instead. You do pay tourist prices, just as any other restaurant in Manuel Antonio. But the seafood was fresh and well prepared, so it was definitely worth it.
