One of the few places we visited twice during our time in Manuel Antonio. Service was superbe, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was excellent. Not much to see during the evening unless you’re like my girlfriend and enjoy combing the beach with a headlamp during the evening to see the critters. Daytime you’re steps away from the beach and the low key picnic table atmosphere accommodates groups big and small. The resident kitten, Mufasa, is cute as hell. Although enjoying pets is much more attentive to hunting critters, enjoy the show. We were blown away by the portion of Nachos con carne we received when we went in the evening for a quick top-up bite to eat. We also ordered the Oreo vanilla milkshake and it was by far the best ice cream treat we had throughout our trip; generous portion and « muy rico » (nice and rich). When we returned my girlfriend had the casados con pollo, and I sold out and ordered the buffalo chicken burger. They were both fantastic and re-energized us after our morning of exploring the national park the heat. A great little spot. Would happily return and would recommend to friends, family, and anyone else who’d...
Read moreOn a hot, sweaty January day, we walked several miles towards a beachfront meal, not yet sure where to settle. The reviews online for Food Truck “En Todas” were so great that we decided to make it our destination. We were excited to try their fish tacos. But one of us has a shellfish allergy …. And when we read from the menu that some tacos and meals contained grilled shellfish, we feared we’d have to move on. Enter Freddie. Freddie listened to our concerns and asked the kitchen staff to clean the grill for our meals so we could enjoy the fish tacos, the beachfront ambience, the warm hospitality, and the general pura vida of the Magic Bus. Freddie went above and beyond. And yes, the tacos were excellent. Superlative. And the homemade chips were out of this world. Sensitivity to our needs, a delightful demeanor, and delicious food made it a complete package. Saunter with whatever speed is appropriate to the temperature and your mood over to the Magic Bus and enjoy a wonderful meal — convey our...
Read moreDON’T GO HERE AS A TOURIST. This place will serve locals before you. We arrived and ordered tacos, ceviche, a wrap, and a quesadilla. There was no one in front of us and diners there already had their food. While we were waiting for food, we saw three other groups of people who came after us get served first, and at the 45 minute mark, I asked them when our food would arrive. Only then did the manager go into the bus and suddenly came out and shouted “right now”. It seemed like they finally started to cook our food then. 4 boxes came out, but we were still missing our ceviche (raw fish, onions, lime juice) so we waited for 30 more minutes. A different possibly ceviche dish came out and it seemed like our waitress asked if it was ours. The kitchen said no and it was for someone else. Our food tasted fine and flavor was there, but not worth it when I paid $100 for the worst service. My tacos also crumbled in my hand so it was really just shoving piles of food...
