It's a small family run hotel (actually, I would rather call it an Airbnb with all it's pros and cons). We stayed 3 nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. When we arrived we got 2 cold beers as a welcome plus handmade bracelets and then coffee every morning - this was definitely a nice gesture showing they care about their guests and deliver above expectations. The location is some 300m from the beach and also super close to a supermarket and some restaurants. The room was large with a large closet and a big bathroom, aircon, TV and fridge. There are some sunbeds, (cold) jacuzzi that's good with the morning sun and also there is a small shared outdoor kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay and relaxed well. The only thing I would point out is the bed which was sub-standand. The mattress sinks in the wooden frame so when you sit down you sit directly on the frame (ouch) and the headboard is inclined forward so it's not comfortable to sit on the bed to watch TV or read.

There is nothing better in Samara! Absolutely beautiful, impeccably clean, very spacious (great shower, closet, parking, AC) and hosts are an honest, kind, friendly family. Greeted with cervezas when you arrive and a fresh pot of coffee on your terrace every morning. You can order breakfast for cheap and there is also a well stocked grocery store a block away. Hosts will even help arrange covid tests or whatever bookings you need. Location is just a hair out of town so quiet but still just a few minutes walk to anything, including the beach! We loved it so much here we cancelled rest of our plans and extended our stay!

I just finished an amazing 6 day vacation at Good Life Lodge. The hotel is just a 2 minute walk to the beach (which is stunning) and Isa was the best! She looked after us and took care of everything - helping with where to go and what to do. The rooms a spacious and nice, the A/C works great. The breakfast was so great - healthy and delicious. I highly recommend Good Life Lodge in Samara where there was so much to do from surfing, beach volleyball to ATVing and day trips to other beaches and towns (Nosara). This hotel is a gem and Samara is an amazing town. Book here if you want see all that Costa Rica has to offer.

We loved our stay at the Good Life Lodge. The family were so lovely, warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We have to mention Vivian before we mention Spencer the dog :) Vivian doubles up at the housekeeper and does marvellously at keeping the accommodation absolutely spotless. She speaks excellent English and is there to offer any advice or organise trips if you need. You will also be visited by the lovely Spencer, he looks quite frightening but is a beautiful dog who will play with you for hours, he is quite partial to your air conditioning too (Hi Spencer x). Just to make you aware the family will ask for payment on arrival, they feel quite embarrassed about doing this so please don't be offended. The reason for this is some horrible people have stayed and left without payment. This is a very unkind act and not a nice thing to do especially when they make such an effort to make you feel at home. This is their business and the money helps them to live and make improvements to the lodge. The accommodation is spacious with a good shower, safe, tv and a very comfortable bed. Kevin also brings fresh coffee to your terrace area every morning for when you wake, such a nice touch. We had a brilliant time here, we felt very relaxed and safe. It is close to the beach, shops and a really good restaurant is next door. Thank you all...

If you're heading to Samara, staying at Good Life Lodge is a must! Our experience was nothing short of 5 stars. The lodge was immaculate, and the staff were exceptional, making every part of our stay delightful. From thrilling surfing and ATV adventures, fantastic “Butts and Gutts” workouts, to tranquil sunrise jogs and picturesque dinners on the beach—every detail was perfect. In my opinion, the location is ideal, just down the road from the coolest and liveliest part of the beach, full of tourists and locals alike, complete with a restaurant, bar, and volleyball courts. The highlight of our evenings were the sunset margaritas by the beach, followed by the vibrant atmosphere at the International Beach Volleyball tournament and an electrifying late-night beach rave with live DJs. The value for money is fantastic, with top-notch amenities and service that truly exceed expectations. I highly recommend Good Life Lodge for an unforgettable vacation where every expectation is not just met but exceeded. Thanks to the amazing staff for a truly special stay. We can’t...
