This hotel was GREAT for me and my two friends (in our mid to late 20s). We made a spontaneous trip to costa rica and found this beautiful budget friendly hotel online, saw a couple of comments mentioning the owner Richard and was hoping all the good things that were said would be true. I am so happy to say they were!!! Richard was the BEST host I have ever come to know, and I travel very frequently. He is beyond helpful, super accommodating, and is always looking for ways to improve your stay in costa rica. He helped us with transportation to and from the hotel and the airport, he can suggest to you what to do around the hotel, and he helped us get a rapid antigen covid test last minute by calling a friend - helping with any concerns we had! His hotel is also located in a wonderful spot - 5min walk to the nearest beach and walking distance to other beaches, it's in the center of town but in an area that isnt noisy. Lots of restaurants nearby (although the hotel has a restaurant of it's own called Seasons which was nice) and a bank located literally right across the street if you needed to exchange money for colónes (costa rican currency). We would definitely stay here again mostly because we'd love to stay at this beautiful hotel (lovely pool and beautiful scene) and see Richard again! His girlfriend was also super cordial and she has a daughter who owns a restaurant called Tierra Bendita with amazing breakfast options - and she's located just down the street. We stayed in a standard hotel room which was just a bit outdated and that could use a bit of work - the beds were comfy, the bathroom looked nice but needed proper ventilation. There’s AC, a fridge but no microwave and the outlets were in slightly inconvenient areas but overall, the room was satisfactory and didnt cause us any major issues at all. There are other more updated rooms I believe you can stay in - but dont be afraid to give Richard a call for more info - he’s the best and getting to know him a little was one of the best parts of our trip...

Read moreIt's own private paradise. What an amazing place tucked away from the busy streets. The main entrance is off a side street, but there is a back entrance which is a short cut to the main road that has path lights and gravel path with keypad access. It is about a 5 minute walk to anywhere on main st or the beach. At night you can't even hear the busy town from your room's own hammock.
It only has 12 rooms or so and 3 are stand alone bungalows, one of which we had. The little buildings are placed in a way where you feel so private and the property is so very well manicured and landscaped with lush local plants. The main building is open floor, open wall concept with the reception, bar, dining area and pool area all flowing into each other. The Seasons restaurant serves an amazing breakfast which was included in our stay and the dinner and drinks were just as good. The pool is clean with plenty of sun or shade and never too busy. Even a dip in the pool at dinner time does not seem out of place.
The staff are very polite and attentive and spoke very good english. When we needed assistance in planning activities, both Henry and Juan Carlos were extremely helpful.
The bungalow room has a queen bed, with a tv, coffee maker and fridge. Ductless A/C (split unit) and a ceiling fan keep the temps in check. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and there was ample storage in the closet.
The front deck of our bungalow had a wooden bench, a coffee table and a hammock. No matter what time of day you sat there you felt like you were in your own space.
Tamarindo is a busy town with a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. It can be very busy and if you want to be in it you are right there, but if you also want so quiet, its also right there, just a few minute walk to privacy...
