TRAVELERS BEWARE!!!!|This hotel's workers are clearly working with others to rob tourists and foreigners staying at this hotel. Please be diligent and look elsewhere to stay safe and avoid getting robbed. This hotel needs to be shut down and shouldn't be operating whatsoever.|The post:|"I stayed at the Marielos Hotel in Tamarindo with 2 friends on Saturday March 2, unfortunately someone broke into our room and stole approximately $2000 USD, in addition to important documents such as identity documents. We were very surprised that there were no signs that the door had been broken into or that there was nothing out of place, we noticed when my friend went to take a bath and couldn't find her need. First of all, the hotel guard cooperated, but they didn't solve anything at all, we had to sleep in the same room they broke into, meaning we didn't sleep.|On Sunday morning, when we went to look at the security cameras, the lady who assisted us was not at all cooperative or empathetic to us, she said she had been checking the cameras and it did not show that anyone else had gone up the stairs to our room, which didn't have proof those things were there either, we probably lost them somewhere else and just wanted insurance. The surprise (or not) for her, was that when I asked her to see the cameras, you can clearly see how a man entered our room and left, who went straight to our room as if he knew that three women were staying there who were having dinner at that time, they didn't even want to refund the money we paid for (not) sleeping or do any kind of refund or help of any kind.|In the end, it's not just the material things, but also the integrity of the people who stay here and the neglect and little empathy they showed me. We don't even want to imagine what would have happened if we had been in the room. Unfortunately, because of situations like this, lives can end regretting.|The picture shows the man...

Read moreI chose the Hotel Marielos based on location and overall value. ||I was not disappointed; the room, while very basic, was clean, quiet and comfy. I selected the A/C and hot water option and my room was cool, my water pleasantly hot. ||The gardens are pleasant and I was able to watch a group of howler monkeys from my shower window. There is a Smurf garden too, for some reason 🤷🏻♂️. ||The location is excellent for beach goers and the “Witch’s Rock” surf area is across the road.||There is a decent enough common kitchen with a gas stove, fridge/freezer, and enough pots and pans.||If you like good value, quiet, and clean grounds then this is an excellent selection. If you have picky standards and are the princess-y type, then get your wallet out and pay triple the cost to stay in a newer place. Note that there is not a pool on the property, if that is...
