Terrible experience – avoid at all costs!
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Fala in Zagreb on July 24th, 2024, and it was hands down the worst hotel experience we've ever had.
The room was disgusting. The bedding had dead insects in it, and the entire space felt dirty and neglected. There was zero privacy – a small window shutter facing the hallway couldn't be properly closed, which meant anyone walking by could literally look straight into our room. It was incredibly uncomfortable and completely unacceptable, especially after a long and exhausting journey. We were hoping to rest, but instead we were horrified.
We didn’t even spend the night. After seeing the state of the room, we immediately returned the keys at the reception and checked into another hotel nearby – which cost a bit more but was infinitely better.
To make things worse, Booking.com reached out to the hotel multiple times requesting a refund on our behalf. It’s now almost a year later, and despite several reminders, Hotel Fala has done absolutely nothing. No refund, no apology, no accountability. Just silence.
This place is a joke. It’s not worth a single cent. If you're considering staying here – don’t. Spend 10 or 20 euros more on a proper hotel and save yourself the stress, discomfort, and frustration. I wouldn't recommend Hotel Fala to my worst enemy.

Read moreNice 2 star Hotel in very convenient location in Zagreb. Bus stop in front of the main hotel building offers quick way to town centre by frequent public transport. Hotel main building caters for all your needs. Another building 300 m away provides additional accommodation. Room we stayed in was clean and maintained on daily basis. Rooms do not have tea and coffee facilities and can be obtained at the reception on request. Breakfast that was included in price of the room was good with small range of salamis, cheese, fruit and cereal. Hot drinks like coffee and variety of teas were available. On request you can get delicious omlet. We booked room through booking.com. Unfortunately when we looked at the range of the rooms we booked one that had bath was not one we got. Host was very nice and reception is...
