Orient Zagreb — Hotel in City of Zagreb

First of all the location. It is walking distance from the bus station and similar to the railway (the hotel is actually positioned next to the (currently) closed railway museum. To get to the train station you have to go under an underpass, which is not at all dark or dangerous; bars, cafés, shops. That said, you are the 'wrong' side of the tracks and some people might prefer to be nearer to the old/upper town. As the tram service is so cheap - stops at the bus and train stations, that is not a problem. In any case, you could walk to the old town - it's a decent stroll but ten you can enjoy the gardens, flowers, some of the historic buildings on the way there. I guess it depends on how long you have.||The accommodation itself - the staff were all friendly, the inside is probably much nicer than the outside appearance and it is very clean and the rooms are comfortable. My single was perfect for a solo traveller and the extras like bathroom, tv, wifi all met expectations. I'd happily stay here again. positive/okay: Room and bathroom were okay regarding the furnishing and size, nice large shower, modern tiles; but some hair from former user, holder of the shower head broken, everything seemed a bit treated with not so much love; but very friendly personnel. negative: horrible smell like smoking all the time: when I entered the room the first time, in the middle of the night etc. We were several colleagues there and several reported the strong disgusting smoking smell; additionally: worst breakfast since a long time - cold, horrible coffee from the machine, dry and only white bread etc. This could be so easily improved! The location is nicely close to the train station etc. but feels a bit in a strange area, where you don't like to walk as a women in the night. But this is personal preference. The noise from the street and train station was medium, windows are noise proof, which is nice. However, noise from the hallway and elevator was really a lot; the door is not noise...

A good location, very convenient to the airport shuttle bus station. The bus costs 8 euros, operates every 30 minutes, and the ride takes 30 minutes.|When you exit the bus station, you can only go left or right. Go left. After 7-8 minutes, you come to an intersection.
