Well designed concert hall. Easy to find, good stairs, wide aisles and a big cloak room with multiple access points. The acoustics inside the hall are excellent and the seats are big and comfortable. Staff seemed happy and were good at their jobs. Our sightline, ground floor, to the stage was good. There was some confusion over the programme. We thought we were seeing the Zagreb Philharmonic perform Henryk Gorecki: Totus tuus. Instead we got Verdi's Requiem. A local behind us thought he was coming to see Mozart's Requiem. You could buy a programme at the concert hall but it cost €2 and you needed cash. Luckily the cloak room was free. The concert was excellent. The choir was about 200 strong, the orchestra was on the grand scale; 5 rows of violins and cellos.

Last time I was there was in the occasion of the Concert Hall anniversary on the Gelato Sisters concert and it was great! The event was made quite informally in the hallway and it was interesting to see people just come and enjoy themselves either listening or dancing on the classical hits. So five stars for the event! As for the concert hall itself, although it is very fine architectural example of it's time, the old lady could use some overhaul since it is more than 50 years as it was built.

Great place for the best concerts. Home to the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. For me as an artist it's always a pleasure to perform there. Whether you sing or play there or you go to listen to the concert, it's so awesome and memorable experience. Hint: look for and go to the concert when there is Academic choir Ivan Goran Kovacic performing :)

Vatroslav Lisinski (pravo ime Ignatius Fux, Ignaz Fuchs, Ignacije Fuchs) (Zagreb, 8. srpnja 1819. - Zagreb, 31. svibnja 1854.), hrvatski skladatelj.

U to vrijeme mijenja svoje obiteljsko ime Ignac Fuchs u Vatroslav Lisinski.

Razočaran, osamljen i gotovo posve zaboravljen sklada malo.

Horrible acoustics with one of the two largest loudspeaker shaking with distortion.

My wife and I were at the Lords of the Sound: The Music of Hans Zimmer two days ago. We bought first row tickets and expected a good performance, but instead it was akin to a modern art exhibition, with colored lights flashing in our faces constantly and visualizations like out of a horror movie, distracting from the actual musicians. The words of the songs were improvised and mumbled so that it was hard to recognize them.

But the worst thing of all was the acoustics - it was played so loud on the speakers that you couldn't hear the instruments, only noise, creating an impression of listening to the whole thing on broken speakers on the computer. If I could give zero...
