The employees are so ridiculous and rude that after checking out of the hotel, while waiting for a taxi in the lobby, one of the employees (an old man) came and said that you are no longer a hotel guest, please leave the hotel.

I told him that I was a hotel guest, that I had stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, that I had just checked out today, and that they could ask the receptionist if they wanted and confirm this.

After speaking Croatian among themselves, they still told me that I had to leave the hotel and drove me crazy. Even though I turned to the girl at the reception and said "you remember me, don't you, I paid you", she said "yes, I think I remember your face", even though she knew that I was staying at the hotel, but she made the old man even more angry. And she even threatened to call the police.

Then another employee came and instead of understanding the situation, he continued to talk nonsense, obsessed with my shutting.

Then that guy apologized to me after I explained the situation somehow. I told him I didn't accept his apologies. I went out saying that I wanted to leave the ridiculous hotel as soon as possible.

The old man came in while I was smoking a cigarette. He apologized.

I responded with three words:...

You get what you pay for. Okay and in some things, you have to turn a blind eye. After reading all the reviews, I was a bit worried—cleanliness is the most important thing for me. It doesn’t have to look luxurious. Many criticized the cleanliness, but luckily, I can say the room was clean. It’s extremely old-fashioned: the curtains have holes, there are stains on the walls, but the room itself was clean, and I could sleep well in it. The old TV is more like decoration, haha.

Even with the heater set to the lowest level, the room was incredibly hot, so I had to break the rule about not opening the window. Even then, it was still very warm—in December. I always had hot water for showers. You’ll need to bring your own shampoo and shower gel.

The breakfast buffet consists of bread, eggs, cereal, cold cuts and only sometimes cheese. As a vegetarian, it was disappointing to ask for cheese and be told there wasn’t any.

The location is good, with a tram nearby and everything is easy to reach quickly. The staff, however, was very friendly.

Overall, it wasn’t as bad as many described. You shouldn’t expect luxury, but for a night or two, whether alone or as a...

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Hotel Laguna, I encountered an issue with my booking, and although I contacted the booking center for help, the hotel reception staff refused to assist me when I asked for support. I was left waiting outside in the cold for two hours, and the staff showed no interest in helping or even offering guidance.

After being completely ignored, I decided to leave and book another hotel. Despite my efforts to get a refund, the hotel refused to cooperate, and I was unable to get my money back. I ended up losing the money and receiving no help, which was incredibly frustrating and disrespectful.

Additionally, I witnessed an upsetting situation where a trainee, who had initially tried to help me, was criticized by the reception staff for offering assistance.

The total lack of professionalism and empathy from the staff made this one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a hotel. I strongly recommend avoiding this place, and I hope management takes steps to address these issues to prevent future guests from facing the...

I wrote the first review of this hotel in 2016, and then I stated that it needed a complete renovation. Nothing really changed between then and 2023. Apart from the WIFI speed speed which is really good. The hotel is old and the rooms are old and he could clearly see that in the first minute. Very basic furniture in the room with clear signs of wear. You can even smell a little of the old. The bedding was clean and there were plenty of towels. There is a tall bathtub in the bathroom, which for anyone over 50 could be a real aplinistic obstacle for getting in and out - possibly harmful to health. The shower let the water flow more from the side than through the usual holes. The breakfast is very modest - I would say even the most modest I have seen during this month in which I have been to 7 hotels in 5 countries. The staff tries to be friendly and helpful. The hotel's greatest advantage is the combination of proximity to the city center, public transportation and cheap overnight stays.

I have stayed in the Hotel Laguna Zagreb for 5 days in the Economy Family Suite - Single use (single rooms have been occupied for the time of my stay). The room was big and clean, but the furniture is really out dated. The windows and door isolation are also not very good, so the noise from the street and hallway could bother you. Suggestion for the hotel: Please do something about the Wi-fi security, because if you leave it totally unprotected as it is, this is a big security risk for your guests. Also at the moment at the location of room 220 wi-fi is almost unusable, because of the low speeds and disconnections. Please also try to improve the water pressure in the shower. No electricity sockets in the master bedroom is also a big minus for me, because you need to charge the phone or computer in the other room. Hotel staff is really friendly and helpful, so overall my stay was pleasant, but I feel like the hotel should offer more for the price 446€/5 nights.

Definitely the grungiest and scariest hotel we’ve ever stayed in. DO NOT BRING CHILDREN THERE!! It is locally known as a no-tell hotel for prostitution work and has a set of bizarre rules for guests to follow. The room itself is scorching hot as the “air conditioning” is just for show but doesn’t work at all. Our rooms had roomy was rotted through the broken shower tile straight through the wall into the bedroom, dirty flooring and stained bathroom. It’s located in a shady part of town; literally on “the wrong side of the tracks”. The breakfasts were a farce. After one night we moved over to the Westin for about €20 per night and was absolutely luxurious. Spend a little more or stay at a hostel and I bet you get better value for your money.
