The most interesting part of the museum are the real planes, submarines, helicopters, cars, locomotives and tram cars that are located in the very center of the building. Very interesting also the scale models of ships in the lobby and rockets on the first floor, in particular the russian lunar vehicle and the Mercury capsule. Two exhibitions are very worth visiting: an exhibition of nuclear energy, materials and disposal of radioactive waste from Krsko nuclear plant (shared between Slovenia and Croatia and located in Slovenia, 35 km away from Zagreb) in the lobby and an exhibition of every source of energy available in Croatia: solar, wind-powered, biomass, hydroelectricity, fossil fuels and thermal energies are very well examined in large displays, exhibition includes scale models of wind turbines, solar cells, smart buildings, etc. The rest of the museum is old-fashioned, a large amount of electric, electronic and mechanical equipment (multipole motors, breakers, electronic microscopes, diesel motors, equipment for drilling oil wells and mining, agricultural tools, radio and audio equipment, like an Edison phonograph, turntables "the voice of his master", and a large etcetera of devices. I believe that the exhibit of these technological artifacts could be modernized and adapted to this new era... Very interesting equipment but a museum must be more than a collection of old stuff, I will give this museum a six-star rating if it showed us these old items in a funny and modern fashion... Museum also hosts a Planetarium (which I couldn't visit) and an experiment of Tesla coils (which I could't watch either...). It is a place worth visiting, with thousands of interesting devices, but definitely needs to adapt to the times that are running, all the museum should be like the two exhibits commented before. Don't miss this visit when you are in Zagreb, anyway.

Maybe this is more of a guy's thing, but I can't understand why anyone wouldn't totally love this place. A great exhibition of machines and equipment used in the past. I loved the large collection of various types of steam engine (I don't mean locomotives) used to generate power in manufacturing industries. So much to see here, I spent three hours but would happily go back. The "Tesla" part of the exhibition only represents a small small of this museum, but don't miss it. Perhaps the demonstration of Tesla's electrical experiments (30 minutes show at 11.00am) is the star attraction here; it's high voltage !!! Also they've created a representation of an underground mine which you can tour after the "Tesla Show" Finally, as a "Senior Citizen" I'm old enough to remember my first SLR camera, 1980 Zenit II on display with many other cameras of that Era. Totally love this place, if I could give it 6 stars, I would. It only costs €4 or €3 for a Senior. Just one small improvement they could make. There is good English descriptions of displays on the ground floor, but they need to extend this to the first floor aswell. Otherwise excellent.

Lots of history in this museum. You'll need at least two hours to get through it all. However having Nikola Tesla as the primary name of this place is a bit misleading. When we came in we first thought that he had something to do with all that was on display when in reality he might have MAYBE indirectly contributed to what was on display. There is a Tesla coil demonstration display, but nobody was caring for it nor was there any mention of a demo available. They show a video if you ask but it's basically a walkthrough of the entire museum with nothing extra added. Planetarium sounded cool, but that was out of service. Having a 1PM closing time on a Sunday for a tourist attraction doesn't seem very tourist friendly either and everyone was basically rushed out with the lights getting turned off little by little while everyone was still inside.

It is a nice place to understand more about the evolution of the machines and also to learn about physics. We could see nuclear power plants principles, rockets, airplanes, cars, oil production information and also Tesla's inventions. The man that received us at the door saw that we had heavy backpacks and helped us with that. Really kind. Unfortunately there are some places of the Museum only opened during certain hours of the day, and since we could not stay there until the afternoon we could not visit the coal mines. I asked the girls to open an exception and open the place just for a photo, but they did not attend to that (they said they were not allowed), not even tried to ask someone that could authorize it. So if you want to go to the museum, the best experience is to look at their time tables for guided tours.

Exhibits intricately detail the evolution of electrical engineering, merging history with technology seamlessly. The museum's interactive displays engage visitors in Tesla's pioneering concepts. From Tesla coils to the marvel of rotating magnetic fields, the exhibits delve into the mind of a scientific luminary. The museum's thoughtful curation ensures accessibility for all, fostering a deeper understanding of the profound impact Tesla had on modern technology. A visit is a cerebral exploration, an intellectual journey through the ingenuity of one of history's greatest inventors.
