The location is great, the staff is helpful in terms of sightseeing. There is a kitchen which visitors can use since there's no breakfast or dinner included in the price. There are plates and cups in the kitchen and pretty much every basic thing which you could need. Bed sheets smelled nice when we got them. Why two stars then? Well, where do I start.. I'm not sure, if that review would apply to every room, because firstly I only styed in 10 people one and secondly from what I have noticed, the smaller rooms are better quality. Basically when we arrived my friends noticed weird smell going on in the room and as if it was fumy in there (that turned out to make sense and I explain it later). However I can't really confirm that because I wasn't there. When I came to the room it seemed to be fine but that changed later in the day. We all took a shower and it was extremely humid. I get that this is normal that when 10 people wash their hair and stay in one not too huge room it is going to get humid, but that was really not the case here trust me it was humidity level extreme. But ok maybe we did something wrong that could be explained somehow, however next thing which I'd like to discuss isn't. On the day third we were chilling on our beds. Then my friend asked me what's the black dot behind me on the wall. It was a BEDBUG. We killed it since it is a dangerous insect, but I thought we shouldn't panic cause it is just animal living it's live and maybe it came through the window. My opinion changed quickly when the same situation occurred 10 minutes later, which what it meant was, if there are two of them there have to be more. We called the receptionist and he didn't seem to be surprised. He said that if we can sleep on the floor because there was no empty room left. G r e a t. We stayed up in another 10 people room which belonged to my other friends, so there was ~20 people. Remember weird fume and smell? My theory was they sprayed bedbugs with some kind of chemical which didn't end up killing them, but hibernating, so they woke up after 48 hours. It all makes sense now. Also besides that there was mold, on the ceiling and in the shower. Just to sum it up: DON'T STAY UP IN BIG ROOMS IN...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed in your facilities, specifically in room 7, last evening. I am writing to express my genuine concerns over my stay, as I have never felt more uncomfortable in a hostel before.
The behavior of many of the other guests in our room was abnormal and honestly frightening. Many did not enter with any belongings, and seemed to be very troubled. This called into question why and how such individuals were able to enter this space. Such abnormal behavior continued through the night. Such incidences included one man entering the room with a lighter and brandishing it around, getting eerily close to my bed and belongings with it. This caused me to have major panic and my girlfriend forced me to stay in the bed with bed, as she did not feel safe. Another guest, across the room, kept directly shining her cell-phone flashlight on my girlfriend and I all throughout the night, which prohibited us from sleeping comfortably as we felt watched and violated. We were also rudely awakened by one of your staff members at 1am, who turned on the lights despite quiet hours begining at 11pm, escorted a guest, again with no belongings, onto my top bunk. This guest proceeded to laugh, cry, gag, scream, and moan continuously all night, shaking the bed incessantly. Needless to say, with such disturbing guests in our room, we were concerned over our physical safety and the safety of our belongings.
Furthermore, there was no line of security throughout the hostel, including entrance to the building itself. When my girlfriend and I arrived, there was no staff member at the front desk, and we easily could have entered the facility freely. It is absolutely outrageous that the bedroom doors themselves did not have locks. This is a basic safety mechanism that we both have had at all hostels around Europe, even ones with a far worse reputation than yours. This simple issue alone caused us to feel uncomfortable and to be frank,...
Read moreTerrible and rude staff. There are two male reception staff. One of them is okay. And one female staff member- who is the single worst hotel/hostel employee I've ever encountered in my life and I travel a lot! I couldn't believe how rude she was. I asked her if she could order some food for me from the restaurant downstairs. She seemed to agree. A few hours later, I asked her if she had ordered. She acted surprised that I wanted her to order anything and asked if I'd like her to do so then. I said yes. A couple hours later, I asked again, and again she looked incredulous. At this point I was very hungry so I told her (politely) to forget about it and I would just go out. She responded by calling me crazy. I said I'm not crazy and she started yelling at me, then cursing at me and saying obscene things. There was no excuse for this. The next morning I told the male staff about this and they seemed unconcerned. I had been a guest at this hostel for two weeks at this point. Then later one of the guys at the front desk (March 5) told me that they were full and I couldn't stay there. I checked online and there were many vacancies... so he was just being a jerk. I was quiet, respectful, followed all the rules during my whole stay. This was completely...
