I've stayed in this hostel for more than 2 weeks and this is one of the hostels I've ever seen in Europe. Originally, I've booked the 6-bed dorm for 3 nights. And later on, I've extended my stay couple times because of the excellent staff service, the location of the hostel and the cozy environment. ||Every staff that I met in the hostel are super friendly and helpful. Particularly Lana, she is the one cheerful lady who helped me a lot during my stay. After three nights staying, I approached her for room extension. She managed to move me to a 4-bed dorm which is a bit quieter. Every day and night when we see each other, she was so caring and ask me about my current stay. In addition, she was also very patient to my questions about the transport to the Plivice National Park and managed to book the bus for me and my another friend. I would also thank Ivana, Miya for their wonderful housekeeping service! Ivana, she is also the receptionist who helped me and other guest above and beyond with cheerful smile! Emilio, Mateo, and the new receptionist Dom were also very friendly and courteous! Thanks for that experience! They also helped me a lot with direction and laundry. Palmers was lucky to have those capable staff! :)||In addition, location was almost unbeatable. You can easily take the tram from Zagreb bus station which is about 25 min. Everything was so close. ATM machine was less than 1min walk. Also, there were lots of cheap restaurant, fast food shops like City Burger and bars which is opposite to the hostel. Konzum supermarket was 6 min walk from the hostel. And tram stop was just one step outside of the hostel. Its really walkable to city centre about 15 min walk.||Lastly, the environment of the hostel was so comfortable. Talking about facilities, the room was so clean with private bathroom plus nice hot shower. The pillow, bed and mattress were so comfy as well. Every room was equipped with A/C. The only downside is the hostel really close to the tram line. So sometimes you can still hear the tram pass by. However, I was quite tired every day so basically is not a problem for me. (They do provide free earplugs, just ask) Towels and lockpads come FREE, just ask them if you need.||There is also a small kitchen and you can make tea and coffee by yourself. Last two weeks, I kept meeting nice people in the hostel and one night, a friend from Finland even made us Spaghetti Bolognese!! And sometimes I also made some food and share woth other travellers as well! At night, you can chill out in the common area with comfy seats and chat with other people. I have met some many cool people here! It was very homey! ||Just book this hostel when you come to Zagreb! You wont regret it and it definitely worths your money! Keep up guys! Hopefully see you all...
Read moreFor a hostel, Palmers Lodge was satisfactory. Great convenient location between bus and train station, which served its purpose well as we were only staying one night in order to catch train the next day. The hostel was well kept. The receptionist was very friendly and willing to answer any questions. We needed late evening check in and very early morning check out, and they were very accommodating. The private double room was clean and smelled nice. Bathrooms were clean and practical. Beds were memory foam, not my favorite. At night it was relatively noisy due to the loud street noise and hearing occasional loud guests through the thin walls. Bring ear plugs. And be ready to do a couple flights of stairs. Overall, I was impressed with...
