Rebooked into the Royal Neptun Hotel with EasyJet holidays after our last hotel was misrepresented on their site as having an indoor pool (it didn't). As we were travelling to Croatia in April, the weather for outdoor swimming in freshwater pools wold have been decidedly unseasonable, hence the urgent switch to the Royal Neptun.
The hotel itself defied our expectations. I don't think the pictures did it justice at all. The hotel itself was lovely, clean and grand, with access to a plethora of hotels, 2 spas and many many facilities across a resort. The spa in the hotel was lovely, I adored the selection of herbal teas and lemon water. The pools were well maintained and the spa staff were polite. We also booked a massage which was excellent, the staff were so professional and the spa's selection of discount knocked the price down a little.
The food was sometimes a little hit-or-miss, I felt that sometimes the hot food selection at dinner could have been better, but the meats were usually well-cooked and overall we still really enjoyed it. Breakfast was abundant, although we were disappointed that the pancakes and scrambled eggs weren't a daily stable. The continental breakfast was always faultless and the selection was vast. We also really loved the desserts in the evenings. Seating options were also good, you can sit shaded outside, inside or outside in the sun.
The room we booked was also beautiful, with a panoramic view of the sea, well-stocked minibar and hot drinks availability, and chairs/small table on the balcony with large sliding doors. Reception always answered quickly and were very polite and helpful. I also lost my swimsuit (twice!) in the spa and it was dealt with very well, they called the room when they recovered it so I was able to come down and pick it up. We were nextdoor to some rowdy guests for the first few nights that sometimes woke us from sleep, however when we let reception know the issue was dealt with quickly and efficiently and it was thankfully solved.
The hotel often hosted events however thankfully the disruption of larger parties to other guests was minimal and it was clear that the hotel coped well with the extra volume of people. Overall we were delighted with our stay. Thank you to all the staff, and my highest complements to the...
Read moreWe just wrapped up an unforgettable stay at Hotel Neptun in Dubrovnik, and let me tell you, they treated us like royalty (minus the crown and scepter, but hey, we weren’t complaining). From the moment we strutted through the lobby, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and enough hospitality to make any five-star hotel blush.
🌅 Breakfast Bliss Each morning felt like a mini food festival. Picture plates piled high with juicy local fruit, buttery croissants still warm from the oven, and a made‑to‑order egg station that turned scrambled eggs into a culinary masterpiece. Need more cheese? More cold cuts? The buffet attendants were on it faster than you can say “More cappuccinos, please!”
🏖️ Cliffside Paradise After fueling up, we made a beeline to our secret hideaway on the rocky shore. Hotel Neptun thoughtfully set out white- influenserfriendly parasols and cushy loungers, so we could stake our claim for the day. Our routine? Clamber up, dive into the sparkling Adriatic (seriously, it’s like swimming in liquid sapphire), then back to sun-soaked rocks for some epic people‑watching (and naps under the parasol, naturally).
🚌 City Adventures Made Easy Want to swap your cliffscape for cobblestones? The hotel’s doorstep bus stop whisks you straight into Dubrovnik’s Old Town every ten minutes. It’s a quick five‑minute ride and, get this, only €2.50 each way—cheaper than a gelato, and twice as fun.
🎉 Why We Loved It
Service that wows: Friendly, attentive staff who seemed to anticipate our every whim (even extra towels for our cliffside siestas).
Breakfast goals: A smorgasbord that had us planning our next morning before bedtime.
Cliff jumper’s dream: Easy access to “our spot,” perfect for cannonballs, sunbathing, or simply gazing at the endless blue.
Convenient exploring: Quick, affordable bus rides into the heart of the city’s Venetian‑walled wonderland.
If you’re craving a mix of laid‑back beach vibes and quick city escapades, with a side of top‑notch service, Hotel Neptun is your Dubrovnik dream come true. Pack your swimsuit, your sense of adventure, and maybe an extra camera, because this place is pure...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed in Hotel Neptune in early August 2018, at the end of a three week trip around Europe. We got an uber from the airport, and it took a while to get to the hotel, but the views as we drove along the coast were lovely. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and given card keys to room 4510 which was a panoramic sea view room with a king sized bed on the fourth floor. The room was fresh and modern and we were really happy with it. The bathroom was nice and clean and had everything you needed, however I thought the rain shower needed a good descale - the water pressure was poor, but there was an alternative shower head which was great - but positioned at lower chest height so I did some squats! The views were sensational, but next time we come I think I would try for floor 6 as people at the Royal Blue hotel rooftop pool can look pretty much directly into floor 4 rooms, and the glass is not tinted so you have to remember the blind if youre not dressed... but as you can see, the view was still awesome! The buffet breakfast that was included in our room rate was delicious. I think the best spread we had in Europe. There was so much choice! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Fruits, cold meats and cheese, salads, cereals, porridge, toast, omelettes, hot foods including so many sausages and more! My partner enjoyed the sparking wine the best, ha ha. For dinner, we never ate in the hotel in our short stay, but could walk easily to several restaurants around the area. Whilst we booked through the Hotel Neptune brand, the hotel is part of the Importanne Hotels and Resorts, so we were able to use the connected hotel (Royal Blue) facilities as well - and they had an over 18 rooftop pool we spend every day at. The pool was really cool, and has a glass side which makes for good holiday pics, especially with the beautiful sea view behind. The bar has great cocktails and snacks too. I hope this review was helpful to prospective travelers and you have a wonderful holiday :-) I would definitely...
