As a waitress of an Asia restaurant, I would like to reply to the comments of Sienna Hunter and Anon student. The four of them came to the restaurant and ordered crispy duck with pancakes, fried noodles, fried rice and chicken curry. They almost ate all the other food, and there was only a little chicken with red curry left. They found me and told me that this chicken is not chicken, but processed synthetic meat because it tastes different from what they usually eat. I also made it clear to them that this is chicken. All our meat is purchased from regular companies, and the purchase invoices are all there. They want to change the curry chicken into vegetables. I said yes, but you still have to pay for the chicken because they only have a little left, and I said I would give them DISCOUNT. They don't agree because they don’t want to pay for the chicken. At the end we changed the chicken for vegetables! I can accept and understand the guests' saying that the food in our restaurant doesn’t meet their appetite and they don't like it, because we can't satisfy everyone's taste, but I can't accept some one saying that our meat is synthetic processed meat because there is no evidence and we really don’t use that kind of meat.
Update: I have written the process of the matter clearly. I believe everyone who has seen it knows what happened. You can post comments, but please pay attention to the authenticity of the comments. For example, our restaurant was not empty when you came to dinner. Don't you treat the people who ate in our restaurant at that time as guests? And I can't reply to you directly under your comments, that's why I chose this way! I won't comment on this...
Read moreI would not recommend this restaurant, as with most other asian restaurants in Dubrovnik at this time, unfortunately.
The restaurant is located in a resort, meaning there are a lot of families with their young children around, loud events (with a stage and cheers), and a bit off from the rest of the city.
The interior of the restaurant itself looks great, and the staff is friendly. The food is cheap.
However, the food has next to no taste at all. In our mapo tofu, the ingredient with the most flavour was the tofu itself. The fish had no taste, same with the beef. The sauce, supposedly spicy/hot (szechuan), which was used in all these dishes, had no taste. The rice was risotto rice, something that all places seemingly only have, including asian restaurants (though you will find other sorts of rice in supermarkets like Tommy Supermarket).
In short:
Pros: cheap nice interiors friendly staff
Cons: tasteless food (dealbreaker obviously) risotto rice (some might think rice is rice, and they would be wrong) located in loud/busy resort located far from city
2 stars because of friendly staff and nice interiors, and not disgusting food but...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was abysmal, with staff displaying no professionalism whatsoever. The food was beyond inedible; the chicken tasted like processed plastic, and everything was drowned in an excessive amount of salt. To make matters worse, the restaurant was almost empty, so there was no atmosphere or need for a reservation. At one point another customer complained, and the staff started screaming in the kitchen, creating a chaotic and unpleasant atmosphere. I would strongly advise against dining here.
One positive, it is affordable especially compared to other restaurants in close proximity. However, I would much rather eat a sandwich which is even cheaper.
Update: it is clear a lot of the positive reviews for this restaurant are fake, considering a waitress has openly posted a 5* review to try balance out this one. I would take all positive reviews with a large pinch of salt, like everything else served there. I suggest sorting the reviews by lowest to highest rather than most recent to see...
