We were walking down the promenade, and this restaurant caught our eyes. Why wouldn't it? Great view, staff very polite and menu looked interesting. So, without second thought, we have reserved a table for later on.
5 hours later........
We arrived for our dinner experience 😋!! We were very excited all day for this. Again, the staff was attentive and helpful. Waiter recommended Veal Steak in Sage sauce with stuffed potatoes.... well... I won't say NO to that right 😁
Sun was setting, view was amazing, drinks were nice.... It's too good to be true.... And yes, food arrived 😕 and all of a sudden we were back on earth, haha
SO! My partner and I were very disappointed with this dish. Stuffed Potato's were very cold and bland, and they were far from being stuffed with anything. We could not taste anything. Maybe we are missing a point here? I'm not sure.... We were told they would be stuffed with things like cheese.... No cheese was found. Veal steak had a really weird flavour 🧐 a bit like a lighter fluid aftertaste.... We got worried that maybe their grill was going out, and they added paraffin, and it just landed on our steak? We will never know. Unless this is how it should taste, then I guess it is just not for me. Grilled veg were alright, but overall dinner was a bit cold.
For dessert, we had apple strudel, which was delicious 🤩 served with lovely vanilla ice cream.
Overall, views are amazing, lovely staff but for this price we were expecting a lot better food. I read other reviews, and it seems that the issue with cold food being served is quite common in...
Read moreVERY disappointed. What started out with incredible promise finished in frustration and disappointment. We sat overlooking the water, in an awesome table and enjoyed the complimentary bread and tuna pate and bought a bottled water. I had a gin martini that mostly tasted like sugar water (the last two sips tasted like gin). We ordered a cheese and meat plate to share and the waiter delivered it saying, that is ham (2 kinds), that is salmon and those are the cheeses (3 kinds) without any other description. None but for one of the ham were anything special. The grilled squid was flavorless, and tough while the potatoes were standard, mushy and once again, flavorless. I moved on to a glass of pricey Zinfandel and was pleased. While waiting what seemed like forever for any waiter to stop back for another, he finally showed and I ordered another. This time the pour was a joke, we thought it had to be the last of the bottle. No waiter again, I did not sip it as I wanted to ask the waiter why such a small pour. Finally, I walked up and found him and he took me to the bar and poured it into a shot glass. It did not reach the top, he said 250 ml was normal and while this was a bit shy, he said it was a big glass that made it look shorted. He kept the glass and offered to bring me another….that was only a slightly better pour (I would not have said anything if this was the original pour knowing US offerings are just bigger) without any sort of comment or apology. Such promise, such...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stumbled upon Levanat on our first day in Dubrovnik and were absolutely blown away not just by the gorgeous view but the incredible service from the staff and the high quality but reasonable pricing of the food and drinks. We visited Levanat everyday for the rest of our 7 day stay in Dubrovnik. The quality of service never went down no matter if we went for lunch, dinner or just drinks! We could not believe how amazing Levanat was! We also couldn't believe how quiet it was! This place deserves to be packed!! The views are genuinely unbelievable and there were many hours spent just people watching and staring out at the sea, watching the boats and the sunset. I highly recommend trying the Rakjie from here and the cherry liquor! Above all, the gorgeous views, amazing food and drinks, the staff really made this place ten times more amazing! The waiters were always so friendly, welcoming and chatty. They absolutely made Levanat and our stay in Dubrovnik that bit more special!
If you are staying in Dubrovnik or the Lapad area, do not miss Levanat! It is a short walk from Sunset beach and is absolutely worth every penny and more! You can even get an ice cream on your way there and back!
Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and we hope to visit again...
