My dining experience at La Castile Restaurant in the Royal Hotel and Resort, nestled in the picturesque city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, was truly exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was transported to a world of culinary delight.
The ambiance was nothing short of enchanting, with its elegant decor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The attentive staff made me feel like a valued guest, providing impeccable service throughout the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food. La Castille Restaurant is a true culinary masterpiece. Every dish on the menu was a work of art, thoughtfully crafted with the finest ingredients and a deep appreciation for Mediterranean flavors. The seafood dishes, in particular, were a revelation, showcasing the bounty of the Adriatic Sea in the most delicious way.
The wine selection was impressive, with sommeliers who were knowledgeable and passionate about their recommendations. And the breathtaking views of Dubrovnik's historic Old Town from the restaurant's terrace added an extra layer of magic to the dining experience.
In summary, La Castille Restaurant is a culinary gem in the heart of Dubrovnik. If you're seeking a five-star dining experience that combines world-class cuisine, impeccable service, and a stunning setting, this is the place to be. I can't wait to return and savor more of their exquisite dishes. Five stars...
Read moreWe ate here during our stay at the Royal Princess Hotel. Whilst the bread served at the start was nice and the breakfast buffet was decent, our dinner experience was extremely disappointing.
The constant and inescapable background music consisted of unpleasant pop song covers that did not suit the setting at all and felt more suited to a chain café than a five-star hotel.
The food was the biggest letdown. The fish was full of small bones, far more than expected for a hotel restaurant claiming this level of quality. Worse still, the pork dish arrived raw (see picture). When we raised this with the waiter, he was polite and offered 50 percent off the bill and complimentary dessert, which we appreciated, but by that point the meal had already been a complete failure and we decided to leave. (And not have the dessert.)
We ended up having alcohol afterwards in hopes of avoiding food poisoning. Returning the next morning for breakfast, as it was included in our hotel package, felt awkward after the night before.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend...
Read moreWe made a reservation to eat here for my husbands birthday, as steak lovers, it was the obvious choice while on holiday. We both had a fillet steak and side. We weren’t overly keen on the starters, but you do get some delicious compliments bread. My husband loved his gin based cocktail, la Castile. We originally booked a table inside in case there was a cold breeze but it was a lovely night and the staff were quick to move the reservation to a table on the patio. Staff were friendly and attentive. Like everywhere in Dubrovnik you can sit for hours without being rushed out. We were 148.50 € for 2 fillet steaks, 2 sides, 1 dessert and 4 drinks. We went back a second night, I got the bbq ribs, my husband got the burger. He loved the burger, for me the ribs were huge and just ok. If you want a big portion, definitely for you but I eat with my eyes and I was stuffed at the mere look of them. The steak was faultless; one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit, particularly if you are staying in the Royal resort cos it will be on...
