Patak's Place Hvar — Hotel in Grad Hvar

I rarely write negative reviews, but this host definitely deserves it. Let me explain...||I have to be honest and say that place was clean, that's a fact and only reason I'm not going for 1-star review.||However, when booking your stay at Patak's place consider following facts, too:||First and most important, the apartment that we got wasn't the same as one on pictures that were presented during our booking process. As you can imagine, one presented in pictures was much better, with better equipment and better view.||Next failure was a drain in the bathroom, which simply didn't work. After a shower, you would end up in water over your ankles that would take 10-15 minutes to drain. Same goes for the drain in the bathroom's sink. Note that they weren't clogged - they simply didn't work.||Bathroom's sink didn't have hot water, either. I mean... really?! No hot water in the bathroom?!||Next thing is TV. Guess what: it didn't work either.||Do you expect a table in your apartment? Well, you won't get one here.||However, the last issue was the one that got me writing this review: despite reporting all these problems to our host (over a telephone) he didn't even try to solve them. He simple - ignored us. We called him three times after which we figured out he was not coming and gave up. We didn't meet the guy during our whole stay (over a week).||I can see there are good reviews for this place, but from our experience, this place is not worth risking...

We arrived in Hvar by ferry and the owners kindly picked us up which was appreciated as the uphill walk with a suitcase would have been difficult. Unfortunately things went downhill from there, we were informed that the property was overbooked so we would have to stay with a "neighbour", who was located even further up the hill.||||To be fair, the apartment was ok, and the sea view was good, but it did not have the facilities as promised, and we were charged the same price. Note: we booked the apartment through Expedia and the booking stated that our credit card would be charged on departure. However, when we arrived we had to pay cash, which meant we had to withdraw more travel money than we had expected.||||I would not recommend these apartments to anyone who struggles with lots of stairs, but the location did strike a good balance between being close to the beach and within walking...
