Booked a sun-bed for half a day. They had a wedding in the evening, hence the beds were only available til 3. This wasn’t a problem as they’d pro rated the rental cost according.
Upon arrival I was told that the kitchen was open until 2, and nothing was mentioned of a bar close time. At some point this changed but was not communicated by the waitress to anybody. I only found out when I tried to order fries at 1:15 and she said the kitchen had closed. I also ordered a drink which she put through for me but said it was last call and I had to pay up - over an hour and a half before they closed! I noticed a lot of unhappy customers who were trying to order after me when they were told they couldn’t. To make it worse, at 2:15pm i saw that the waiter for the other side of the deck was still bringing food and beverages out for his customers.
Aside from that, the service was overall lacking for a place that markets itself as being upscale - no water provided unless asked, had to move the parasols ourselves, had to actively find the waitress when wanting to order. And the quality of the food was poor in relation to the price. $26.50 for a quesadilla that had barely any meat in it, came with the tiniest portion of guac and no salsa or sour cream? Even the table next to me had to ask for ketchup and mayo for their burgers. I know this sounds like I’m nitpicking but for the prices they charge and that they market themselves as exclusive/upmarket it’s these little things that you would expect. If the loungers and food etc were all half the price i’d have NO complaints at all.
Anyway, the view is gorgeous and its a great spot to get in/out the water without having to deal with the pebbles but there are other clubs/resorts that offer way better service/experience for the same or less cost.
Can’t say that I’d recommend The Beach Club.
Although perhaps the experience is better when they don’t have a...
Read moreIt' seems to have gone completely down market. Used to be a fabulous place for folks who like a bit of privacy, to spend the entire day ocean-side with a couple of sofa beds, parasol and tableside service for food and drinks. Like others who mentioned on here, in the past one could turn up and secure a place. When we did this recently we were told only a few places for public and is now exclusively for Elizabeth Palace Hotel guests, yet they are selling bookings on the website but when you book a date you receive an email rejecting your booking from some elusive character called Mario. We still managed to secure a booking, the table side service was fantastic (from the female assistant) and the food was really good but we seemed to be one of the few actually spending on wine/drinks and food. We tried to hire a cabana was told 'all sold out' yet they sat empty the entire time we were there. I don't know what has happened, the people in the beach club seemed to be there just to fill up the space. It's lost all of its appeal. We tried hula hula beach club for the first time and found it...
Read moreWe paid €290 for 2 beds and an air conditioned room, bottle of Prosecco, and fruit. No one came after an hour to give the fruit or Prosecco, so we flagged someone down and we got the fruit. We also asked for a beer, we were told “there are drinks in your room”. We had no bottle opener, and one glass in there between two of us. We weren’t told which drinks, if any, from our fridge were included. No one explained anything to us. When we asked at the desk for something the lady said “who is your waiter, ask them”. We didn’t have one, no one ever came to us and it was impossible to flag someone down as they were all running around. We never got our bottle of Prosecco. We couldn’t use the beach as it was full of sea urchins and the steps were dangerously slippy. A warning to bring sea shoes would’ve been appreciated. No music playing. A large amount of money for a sub...
