We arrived and check in wasn’t great. The receptionist seemed friendly enough but couldn’t really understand us. The hostel from the moment we walked in was so old fashioned. It also didn’t seem very clean. We were given 3 sets of keys for the front door and the locker. The room was alright and the beds were comfy but my light for my bed was melted and disgusting and i got a sense it wasn’t very clean. The lockers were big and spacious! The bathroom was very old fashioned also as you had a key to lock the bathroom door which was quite odd but not a concern. The shower was awful. The shower head didn’t have a mount so you needed to shower and hold it at the same time which was annoying. Not as annoying as the freezing cold water that I needed to shower with. Also the drain didn’t work so all the water was just collecting at the bottom. Not ideal. The kitchen was good. It had an oven, a kettle, a hob and free tea and coffee. On our last day we realised that the bin had not been emptied in our room for the entirety of our stay so there was no housekeeping! The location was good. It was right on the main street so all the shops were right there if you need them. The beach was a 30 minute walk away. Overall I wouldn’t recommend and would not return due to...

However there were some events that ruined my stay here: I had to exchange more Kunas and I asked the staff if he had any recommendations for good rates. He gave me one but it was the worst rates in town. They allow smoking in the kitchen and in the balcony outside the room. Because it is summer now, the balcony door is left open to allow ventilation. The room and kitchen reeked of smoke. The most appalling thing was that this staff tried to hard-sell me to get transport to the airport. Told me very firmly that there is no bus to the airport and i had to get their transport which costs 250KN (~€34). Please be careful when you stay here and do not get scammed by the staff. There is a bus to the airport thats...
Read moreSince i'm travelling in Europe, this is my fav hostel so far. The owner is very kind, and very accomadating : I kept the keys until 3pm during my check - out day. It's mostly an appartement with 12 beds in total. both rooms are spacious and the bed are actually very comfy. It's old style bunkbed but the owner installed small light and lot of electric plug for each bed. You also have locker for each person. You also have 2 bathrooms, one for male and one for female, so yes sometimes you wait a bit for going to the toilet. You also have a real kitchen for cooking. Yes, the bar outside is so noisy but with window closed and ear plug you can survive (and i'm a sensitive sleepeer). I felt very safe as a woman. Totally...
