Transfer from the airport:||(As you probably noticed if you done your research Waterman kaktus hotel as it is advertised on the Tui website does not exisit. The name of the hotel is Waterman Svpetrvs resort) Once we arrived at Split airport several Tui reps were there to greet us to devide the group into busses depending on where you booked. Then we were taken to the ferry port. That took us about 45 mins, where we were told we have to wait nearly 2 hours as they have a holdup at the hotel and Tui's ferry can't collect us yet. So we went into Split to see the sites. The rep was actually quite rude and said "if you dont like it, it is what it is". He said we can leave the luggage on the bus. I asked if the bus is waiting here then he told me "I don't want to take your clothes don't worry". After the ferry arrived it took about 50 mins to get to the island and another 10 mins on the bus to the hotel. ||The area of Supetar:||The little town you are arriving on the ferry is lovely real mediteranian with terracotta roofs and green shutters loads of places for walking and adventuring. If you go to the opposit direction from supetar you can find some lovely quiet beaches and little towns only an hour of light walk away. ||The Hotel grounds:||The hotel itself is a bit confusing because you don't know where it starts and ends. There are other hotels next to it so very strange. The grounds and gardens are beautiful full of olive trees, fig trees and evergreens. ||The room: ||Welll...... Prior to arriving I have emailed the hotel asking if we could have a quiet room as we are light sleepers and early to rise. They put us in a room that is closest to the night entertainment center and the room was not cleaned when we arrived and was in, what looked like a basement of the hotel. We had mold on the shower head and around the fixtures, someones hair under the soap dispenser and old nail clippings by the bed and no sufficient bedding. No shampoo, bodywash and extra towels provided in te bathroom.||I went to the reception after I cleaned up. They asked a cleaner to come over with douvets and tidied the room up and given us free access to the adult only pool which would normally be 10 euros per person per day. ||Hotel communal areas:||First of all this is not an all inclusive hotel as other then food and SOME drinks everything else you have to pay for. The adult only pool that is lovely and pieceful £10pppd, the towels you have to pay £15pp and get £5 back at the end of your stay, the safe costs money as well, the sunbeds on the beach is to pay for as well. If you decide not to pay for the adults only there is a few pools on the premesis but it is rammed with people so you can't move. Expect queues at the bar. ||The lobby is nice and clean (the only part of the hotel reflects 4star) well decorated and plesent to be around. Loads of little areas where you can sit and relax they are really nice. ||The food:||The food is okay, not much change throughout the week and we had intergestion a few times after dinner. Breakfast and lunch are very good not many people at all but.... At dinner the restaurant is absolutely rammed as dinner starts at 7pm. Queues right up to the door if you get there late you will have to wait a long time.||Staff:||All staff at the resort have been really helpful and nice to us and helped a lot with the room issues and was quick to apologize and solve the problem right away. ||Summary:||As a whole we had a good holiday but I would not book this hotel again. This may be a bit harsh but I have been in 3* hotels that had been better and cleaner before in Croatia. That said the staff really tries to help you to have a good time and the extra charge places are pieceful. I would say that if you book here as a package with a flight I wouldn't pay more then £700pppweek. Overall, mixed opinions but our aim was to relax, which we did in lennox adult only part of...

Read moreI had the opportunity to stay at the hotel for the third time, and while my previous visits in 2015 and 2022 were exceptional with 5-star experiences, this year's stay left much to be desired, resulting in a 3-star rating. I want to emphasize that this review is meant to provide constructive feedback rather than criticism, in hopes of improvement in certain aspects.
The Positives: The hotel staff remained consistently friendly and accommodating, and the beach and sea remained as beautiful as ever.
Areas of Improvement:
Culinary Disappointment: This year, the dining experience was a significant letdown. It seemed that new chefs, possibly from South America, had introduced spices that did not resonate well with most European guests. My father, mother, girlfriend, and I all experienced digestive issues, with one day being particularly distressing due to prolonged illness. The quality of the food was subpar, and fellow guests we conversed with shared similar concerns. The chicken breasts and broccoli were spoiled on one occasion, emitting an unpleasant odor, and the tasteless fish was a recurring issue. Breakfast, which was supposed to start at 7:00 AM, often didn't have baked eggs available until 7:30 AM. The poor dining experience significantly marred our vacation. Outdated Rooms: The hotel's rooms were a mixed bag. While the main bedroom had been renovated, the bathroom seemed to be stuck in the 1990s. The bathroom was cramped, especially for those of a larger build, and lacked proper ventilation. The toilet flush mechanism was faulty, and the antiquated air conditioning unit was incredibly noisy. The positioning of the air conditioning unit directly above the bed meant it had to be turned off at night. Unfortunately, the air conditioning only operated at full fan speed; lower settings were non-functional. The creaky floors were also a nuisance, often waking up the person sleeping next to you. Additionally, the quality of the mattress was subpar. Inconvenient Location: The distance between our room and the dining area (Antonios restaurant) was quite a trek of 450 meters, we were located in the TREY complex. Strangely, another dining area (mama Roesis kitchen, which we weren't allowed to use) was a mere 50 meters away from TREY. In Conclusion: My experience this year was significantly different from my previous stays at the hotel, warranting a 3-star rating. I believe the hotel has great potential, but improvements are essential in terms of culinary offerings, modernizing room amenities, and ensuring convenience for guests staying in various parts of the hotel complex. Despite these shortcomings, the friendly staff and the stunning beach remain highlights of the stay.
In reflection, it's clear that this year's stay at the hotel fell short of justifying a 4-star rating, especially given the price we paid for our accommodations. While the hotel's previous track record had set the bar high, the current experience left us questioning whether it truly met the standards one would expect from a 4-star establishment. The inconveniences related to the dining experience, outdated room amenities, and the considerable distance between our room and the dining area collectively impacted our overall satisfaction. It's my sincere hope that this feedback aids the hotel in making necessary adjustments to enhance future guests' experiences and ensure that the establishment aligns more closely with the expectations associated with its star rating...
