We can highly reccomend you to enjoy the hospitality of José and Hiraida at "Hostal Amatista" when you visit Trinidad. The colonial style house is perfect situated, close to everything, it's clean and has a beautiful rooftop terrace where a large breakfast is served. ||||We stayed for 5 days in early february and were accomodated in a nice and spacious room at the first floor. I can mention that we experienced some noice from the street early in the morning as we got the room closest to the street, but that really didn't bother us that much. But if you are a light sleeper you should consider to ask for a different room. ||||The staff and the hosts are all genuine lovely people, always smiling and willing to help. They all contributed to add that extra value to our stay that are really rare to find. ||||I must mention that we experienced service way beyond what we could expect. When we left the house we went to Havana with a collectico taxi (booked by our hosts). Unfortunately my brand new jacket was left behind in the car, so it returned with the driver back to Trinidad. I didn't have much hope to ever see it again, but José and Hiraida helped us out and sent the jacket on a bus to Havana the next day, where a friend of them picked it up at the bus station and delivered it in person to our Hotel, amazing! ||||Once again, thank you so much for a very nice stay!...
Read moreAll the other 5 star reviews are true, this really is an excellent Casa. The hosts really were helpful when my partner arrived ill. The hosts were full of welcome suprises and we felt very comfortable in their company. Although me and my partner were trying to learn Spanish they were very helpful towards us. Breakfast is delicious and is served on the rooftop terrace which is sheltered and has nice views of the nearby belltower. The room was very big and comfortable, the water pressure is a little low in the shower, especially if the toilet has recently been flushed, but it is perfectly usable. |The location is perfect! Very close to the historical centre but more importantly it's quiet at night time. The nearest restaurant may also be the best in Trinidad, Taberna La Botija, the food is delicious although get in there early because a queue develops later on.|Out of all of the areas we visited in Cuba, Trinidad was our favourite to walk around in. It has a nice feel to it and is a nice place to meet other English, American, French, German etc tourists in a beautiful setting. Although there are many people on the street trying to get you into their taxi, restaurant or tour group when walking around they leave you alone after a polite "no, gracias".|I would recommend this Casa to anyone wishing to...
Read moreThis is a gem in the heart of Trinidad. The terrace is so beautiful with plants and flowers providing much needed shade and where you eat breakfast and supper if you want. The views from the rooftop were beautiful. Hiraida and Jose were so friendly and warm. Their daughter helped me to connect to the wifi around the corner from their casa. Breakfast was huge, no need for any lunch! We had one of the rooms off the terrace which was very comfortable and the ensuite spotlessly clean. Each time we returned to our casa, exhausted and tired, we were given a refreshing fruit juice on the house. Nothing was too much for them, arranging taxis to Cayo Santa Maria or small excursions to the mountains or sugar plantations.||Its central location was idea. You didn't even have to hire an expensive taxi from the bus station to the casa, it's about a 4 minute walk. One of the best restaurants is opposite the casa called Taberna La Botija, but get there early otherwise you'll have to queue.||If we ever return to Cuba this casa will definitely be on...
