"LA BOTIJA", TRINIDAD, CUBA... IS A SAD-ASS PLACE!!!! Preferential treatment is given to blond European-looking tourists. I'm Cuban- American and went there with a Cuban friend. WE were put on hold...ignored until I stood up, approach one tender and asked for service in English...She wouldn't understand me but handed me the Drinks Menu. We finally got attention from a waitress and asked for a Margarita and a Natural Daiquiri...The Margarita was served without ice...more like a Martini in a Cognac glass...and the trademark Natural Daiquiri was nothing like it...A Daiquiri serve with ice-cubes in a tall Rum Collins glass? WRONG. I paid, made the waitress awared of the awful service and she agreed. Said she was sorry about it. It cost some CUC 6.85...I left a 25 cents tip! PS: I went there on a Friday,...

Fun place to eat in trinidad - western prices but not too expensive. The sandwiches and meat dishes are excellent (especially the slow cooked lamb). I saw people eating burgers and pizzas but they didnt look good - order smart and stick to the more 'local' stuff. Go before 6pm so you don't have to queue. The live band in the evening are ok. Service is a bit mixed - they can be unattentive and I must have eaten there 5 times and they never told me there was a specials board! Also on occasion the place was filled with flies which is the only big negative. Also it's benches and tables and a fast turnaround so it's not a place to lounge around...

Amazing food and atmosphere. It's great for sharing, and trying different dish to enjoy the most out of it. Their special pizza was super delicious, and full of olives, so heads-up if you're not an olive fan. We also tried borchetta and chuleta, and the latter one was a lot tastier. For appetizers, cheese ball and fried fish were great. Make sure you go there a bit earlier than normal lunch/ dinner hour, otherwise you have to wait for sometime. It's closed for food only from 4am to 12pm. There is a really friendly & compassionate dog outside in the other corner waiting for the left overs or the bones. You can make him very very happy.

Like probably many tourists in Trinidad, we also paid two visits to La Botija. Overall, it was okay, but you can already tell that it is a restaurant designed for masses. In addition, the decoration, as already described by others, is really memorable and strictly speaking tasteless and inappropriate for a restaurant. However, the food was okay, the live music good and the prices a little higher but also okay. Only, on both visits after we paid, it was claimed that we had given too little money. This has not happened to us once in just three weeks in Cuba. Here twice. Therefore, we are not sure if this might be a scam.

Just DONT GO! Servers are a complete garbage in all ways and senses, just go to another places, the restaurant and the bar are the same thing, they don’t care at all about you. They will spit at you if they can. In the restaurant I ask for a table when I came and they took 20 min, or more, they are not polite at all, they are so rude. The bar ? Forget about it !!!! Owners need to change servers mind! Server think that am beggin for service. Food is ok
