Maria Zintili Apartments, Ayia Napa — Hotel in Ayia Napa

Stay away from this horrible place!! I had the worst experience ever in a so called hotel… 3 stars is a joke!!! That’s not even a youth hotel!!! now for sure they will charge you for three or even four star hotel… I’ll make it simple, you take a room for two they give you only one key … the air conditioning cannot work without this key, so we had no way of keeping the temperature cool while we were not there, that’s low from them and certainly not worth of a three star hotel, or even two, but not inacceptable…. What was INTOLERABLE is that they frequently decided to shut down the Air conditioning out of the blue while we were there and while it was perfectly running in the rest of the hotel, and the worst came at the checkout that was supposed to be at 10am!!! I mean who does 10am checkouts?!?! Neither I nor any of the persons I’ve talked to ever saw such an early time for a checkout!! But at least it was advertised…. In any other hotel you always get a tolerance and when checkouts are at 11am they give you easily until noon to do so…. NOT HERE!!! Not only it was 10am sharp , but in order to accelerate the process they shut down once again the air conditioning!!!! During a major heat wave mind you!!! That was the intolerable part and what should make these awful people run out of business which I certainly hope that they will! I cannot describe how horrible it was to end up packaging in that furnace! That horrible human being took advantage of the fact that I was 18 years old and I’m sure he would have never dared to do that to an adult!...

I traveled in June 2015, was meant to be going with boyfriend but he lost his passport so I went alone hoping his PP would come quickly I stayed, unfortunately it arrived two days before I was due home. Never the less I had a great time. The building is lovely, flower pots and slated drive. The family that own this place are so friendly and nice. The rooms are immaculate all brand new, just wonderful. Theres always fruit, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and water. And everyday theres always a little surprise in the fridge like beer, eggs, jelly. Maria is very thoughtful and kind. Sheets are always cleaned and room tidied. The facilities in the room are excellent, everything you need, cooker, toaster, kettle, sink and all your cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and spatulas etc. Washing up liquid also. Theres a flat screen tv with a bunch of channels to choose from. My room had a balcony which was a lovely size. Bathroom has a shower and toilet roll is supplied. It is very clean and all new. Theres a safe in the wardrobe and theres aircon which are both extra but cheap enough and worth it. Really nice place, great for young people because its right next to the clubs. :) Oh almost forgot the wifi is free and its fast. I couldn't fault the place and I will defiantly be going back.......

Maria Zintili first of all made us pay 60 Euros extra for AC. I understand their site states that the AC is not included, but to charge 5 Euro's per unit per night, which means 10 Euro's extra per night per apartment seems a bit excessive. During check in we asked the owner why the charge was so high and why he didn't advertise this on booking.com, his reply was: I'll happily kick you people out. When we eventually agreed to pay the extra for the AC, 12% on top of the apartment rent, he accepted us again. On top of that he claims to be just over 2 KM away from Nisi Beach, and told us it's a 15 minute walk, it's more like 15 minutes by taxi. All in all I feel the description of this hotel/apartment is highly overrated. It might well be suited for 18 year olds who look for a bar close by, but very few of the amenities are actually as closely as advertised.
