Very disappointed and shocked by the service we had during our stay in this hotel..! Upon our arrival the receptionist Spyroulla ( an older lady) did not even bother to greet us in any way nor say a simple “Hello”. Her behavior towards us was straight up rude and disrespectful! We knew we arrived 2 hours earlier than check-in time, we even started off by mentioning that and she cut us off mid sentence saying in a bold tone that we are basically early and that she doesn’t have any rooms to give us ( to be noted that we just wanted to drop our luggage and stay at the lobby/ restaurant area of the hotel from the start). Anyhow, the manager’s Hlias’ behavior wasn’t that far behind, he had the same tendency of cutting off guests of the hotel ( not just us, we witnessed this behavior with 2 more guests) rudely and with an angry and kind of mocking tone when we asked what was the issue with the pool and when would it have been fixed, to which he replied quote to quote “There’s no money today”!? Furthermore, at night the stairs down towards the pool and “parking area” and the pool area as well are pitch black which is really dangerous as the stairs are steep on mountain terrain surrounding them ( there are lights, they just don’t bother changing them or fixing them to work). Regarding the parking, for the size of the hotel itself, it is unacceptable to not have enough parking spots to facilitate all guests. Moving on to the restaurant, meals are good and prices are relatively fair in comparison with other restaurants in Platres. Although, service was very slow and we had to repeat 5+ times for certain things and even to different waiters and had delays of more than 40mins to bring them. One of the elder staff of the restaurant, Kostas, had an unpleasant attitude and once again rude towards guests at the restaurant including us. In regards to the pool bar, which is part of the hotel (and NOT privately owned), staff there were greatly unprofessional as they were bathing in the pool and had to call them to get out and go take orders of people around the pool. They would also not give receipts there either and didn’t know the prices of things and had to ask each other for them. |Despite all the unfortunate events, I want to end on a good note and mention how much potential this place has! From what they told us, the hotel was bought recently by Forex company and they plan to develop and upgrade the hotel within the span of the following year. In conclusion, I would advise you, if you are considering staying in this hotel, to wait a year or two before booking, so that you can at least enjoy the facilities and have a...

DO NOT STAY HERE

The hotel is located in an area with nice scenery in the mountains but it is well past its prime.

Parts of the hotel are falling apart and the interior is very dated. Very little has been spent on the up-keep and the hotel is well overdue a major facelift; food is over priced and the breakfast buffet’s cooked food was cold.

Some staff can be friendly but others at times seem to be very laid back and not wanting to really to be there or help when things go wrong. Guests are a burden.

Indoor spa area is a mess; nothing was working (the sauna or jacuzzi) and the outside pool is very deep/unsafe (380cm with no life guards on duty with many small children jumping off a dated diving board in to the 380cm deep water). And the floors in the pool area are uneven, the steps broken in areas. There’s also a smell of raw sewage coming from somewhere as you walk down the 80+ steps down to the pool. Far from an easy walk for elderly and passed them on the stairs while they catch their breath

Strange pool times 10am till 6pm most hotels across Cyprus are 8am till 8pm

Over heard a disabled guest complaining to another guest that they couldn’t join the rest of the family by the pool as there is no easy way of getting them there unless they get in a car and drive down to the hotel entrance where there is another entrance to the pool

One positive: our room was a good size and the bed was comfortable - that’s about it, it’s still very dated.

I would never stay again and advise you don’t either!

There are much better hotels in the area at similar prices.

We booked due to being told it has recently been renovated which it hasn’t other than a possible slight freshened up paint job in some rooms.

They boast about inventing a drink for the king of Egypt in 1953 very much where this hotel still thinks it’s operating.

This is in no way a 4 star hotel in 2024 maybe standards for 1930 when it was built needs to be closed and fully renovated

The manager acts as if this hotel is the 4 seasons and doesn’t acknowledge there been any problems in his hotel

Stay away at...

MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. they gave me a different room that the one I booked and i asked nicely so they can give me the one I booked and paid for, so I took photos of the room and showed them to the receptionist and she got so ironic and was trying to fool me that the photos were the same and they were fully booked and didn't have other room. so i asked for the manager and she went to find him.. i asked the same question to the manager if the photos he was seeing were the same room and toilet and he was saying the same things, us they joined together before he comes, that he can't see any difference and the photos are the same..and I was asking them:" are you mockering me?" and answering to me that I was mockering them... and after that the manager gave us a key from another room (after she told me she didn't have other rooms) but was worst than the first I got... I never had such an experience like that..so

disappointing..she was saying to me that he can't have photos of all the rooms to upload in the website and so i answer her that from the moment you have two options of the room you have to have them in the web so the customer can see what he is paying to stay and then she was trying to blame the booking company that it's not theirs fault that booking doesn't show all the photos. and telling me now 1 have work to do i cant manage this problem now and she was doing nothing pick up and hanging up the phone without any reason speaking with noone. SO derogatory woman. the hotel was a mess definitely needs renovation not a 4 star hotel for sure.. NOT RECOMMEND IT.. you can see on my photos the difference clearly of the room I booked and the room I got especially the toilets.. clearly you can see the difference between them.. BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE AND THEY ARE THE SAME so I upload the photos so you can see on your own the...

Where to start? The hotel apparently has 2 sides the old one and the renovated one. No information on that when booking though and same price. Facilities are very cranky but let’s say that is “preservation of culture”. The balcony door was broken need two people to open by pushing both up and down. The chairs wouldnt fit on the balcony so we had to manually take one out and out it in the room if we wanted to sit outside. Everything had bird faeces all over, table, chair, balcony floor. The wifi was not working at all (speed test video attached) and cellular up there is not good so… the breakfast was the only nice thing we expected and it was not! Pastries were at least a day old and generally not a 4 star experience! The inside heating pool was not working. The reception did not seem to be interested in our experience at all and i would say a bit unprofessional if not completely. Room heating system did not work at all. The drinks at the cafeteria were unreasonably priced, hot chocolate was 4.5€ but they used the same powder from the supermarket ( the cheapest one) even cheaper than nesquick, milkshake was 5€ and the just stirred some milk with krikri ice cream (cheapest ice cream on the market) Someone might see this as overreacting since the bed was nice and we had running hot water but guys keep in mind THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FOUR STAR HOTEL! Going to file a complaint to the deputy ministry of tourist for this hotel’s star credit because people (including us) are making the decision to book here based on the star rating not just the reviews. Surrounding nature was absolutely stunning but definitely not a 4 star experience AT ALL and anyone who has ever been to even a 3 star hotel will agree :).
