Lordos Beach Hotel & Spa is actually a pretty great hotel. In an area where currently (end of 2021) there's very little to do, you almost don't have to leave the hotel at all. In that way, it's almost the "jewel" of the area.
The staff was always very nice and helpful, it was very pleasant to interact with them. The hotel rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms - our room happened to have a really big terrace that even shared a common area with a few other rooms. There were a few comfortable chairs and swings, and you could potentially interact with your neighbors quite a bit, hanging out there. So for a social person, this is great. The view from the terrace is not great, though. But that's a minor detail because you'll be hanging out at the beach anyway.
Another plus in the hotel room is the heavy blanket which helps you fall asleep. As a flip side, it can get quite hot during summer nights and you have a dilemma: Do I open the door, bringing in cool air and mosquitos, or do I close the door and sleep in a hot room with no mosquitos?
The breakfast is also really good, a great buffet with quite many foods to choose from. Now I have a Nutella overdose :P
I recommend trying the different activities that the hotel has. They are the following:
Gym: A big room with treadmills, spinning bikes and other equipment. You can lift weights and do a full workout. The downside is that the air conditioning in the room is not great and it's really hot in the room. (Notice: I'm from Finland and I'm used to certain really cool temperatures so I might be biased. It could also be the climate ...)
Indoor pool: A smallish pool where you can chill out. Not for distance swimming, but more for relaxing and hanging out. Temperature is decent.
Sauna: Fits perhaps 10 people quite easily. Oddly, there's a window through which people in the corridor can look at you. Hope that doesn't bother you ...
Steam sauna: This could be the better of the two saunas. Smaller, but more intimate and enjoyable. Fits perhaps 6 people, no windows.
Tennis court: You can also get balls and racket for free. The court is in a bit of weird condition, as the surface seems to bounce unevenly. Perhaps it's just been used so much ... The same goes for the equipment. For a free racket, you cannot really expect it to be top quality. Notice also that there are court lights which cost 1 EUR per 20 minutes. You'll have to use these when it gets dark (after 17h or 18h or something). In conclusion, for casual tennis, this is great to have for free!
Outdoor pools: In other reviews, people have complained that the water is cold in these pools. This is true, I don't think they have any kind of heating there. This does not bother me, because on a hot summer's day I particularly want to have a cool bath! And you get used to the temperature in about a minute or so. I also don't think I saw anyone using these during my stay.
Laundry service: Normal hotel prices (6 EUR per shirt, 2 EUR for socks, 14.50 for suits etc.) With these prices, the total would easily get to 100 EUR! Needless to say, I did not use this service. This is actually the main problem: Difficult to find a place to wash your clothes. There are also no laundromats in the nearby area; the closest is in Larnaca. Hand-washing it is ...
Really good and fast WiFi!
The main restaurant in the hotel, also a buffet, is a bit on the fancier side. They have a changing theme every day, and the food is quite good! I don't remember what the price was but if you buy a voucher for 3 times, you can get the price per time to under 20EUR per person. So not bad at all! The restaurant opens around 18:30 or 19:30 on the evening.
Overall, the hotel was a good and enjoyable experience that I would definitely recommend. Just notice the few caveats that I...
Read moreI stayed at the Lordos Beach Hotel from 21st May - 7 June 2025 and absolutely loved every minute!
The hotel is easy to get to from Larnaca airport. Fifteen or so minutes from Larnaca airport by cab, or about 30 minutes by bus number 425 - which stops exactly opposite the Lordos Beach Hotel! How handy..
This is not my first time staying here - but this is my first choice of hotel in Larnaca, better still, in Cyprus!
I had a lovely room, which was kept very clean and very well maintained during my stay. My room had a lovely balcony and a great sea view.Delicious breakfast for everyone - I am Vegan so the kitchen staff and waiters did everything they could to assist me in making my breakfast as tasty as possible!I was treated to some lovely foods including, tofu scramble with veg, mushroom 'koubes' (balls made with bulgar wheat), Vegan Gyros with veg, vegan nuggets and veggie spring rolls, vegan cheese, vegan tzatziki (which I spread on toast), along with all other everyday goodies available such as cereal, toast/bread, fruit, veggies, tea/coffee, frappe, and so much more! This certainly set me up for the day so didn't need to eat again until the evening. There is so much good food on offer for what you pay, so great value indeed!
Special thanks to Elena in the kitchen for making these for me and providing a wonderful service to me!
The hotel offers so much from nightly entertainment, fantastic pools, both outdoor and an indoor pool plus jacuzzi, Spa treatments/massage, etc., themed evening meals at the restaurant, e.g. Asian night, French night, Italian night, Greek night, and so on. My fave was Asian night as there was lots of Vegan foods available. Other than this, the Chef was happy to make me something tasty to eat which was made Vegan for me.
Thank you to the Restaurant manager - Marios, for his assistance and attentiveness.
The new pools at the hotel are wonderful and very relaxing. Everything is kept nice and clean and you are sure to have a great time chilling at the pools or relaxing at the beach lying on your sunbed (all provided by the hotel).
The staff at the hotel really care about their patrons. You can really see/feel this - I really appreciated their genuine hospitality. Thank you to all.

In my honest opinion - The Lordos Beach Hotel should be a 5 Star hotel!
It goes without saying that I highly recommend this hotel. I will add some photos...
Read moreTwo stars is actually generous and I can say there were some amazing highlights. Maria in housekeeping, and her boss and of course Iona at the bar who made my coffee martini. These people are shining that second star, without them this would be a 1 star hack (though not totally, just for the room and time of year I booked specifically). Let me explain: Dinner buffet direct from 1970. A beach hotel with a cheap buffet that keeps its terrace (the best part of the whole space) closed, you are not allowed to eat there or bring food there. Despite reception trying to help, staff still refused it. THE WORST PART is the dress code from some midevil torture chamber... not allowing you to wear shorts in a sweltering hot room, filled with food smell, no open doors or windows to the amazing terrace and a cheap cheap cheap buffet... we also both got food poisoning from what was very likely Mediterranean night... spent whole next day sweating, vomiting, etc. We rather lose our money than return for the remainder of the week. Room 136... suite with jacuzzi and sea view... only sea view if you go outside and look through someone else's "private terrace" don't be fooled. Further, it's only a 1.5 seat jacuzzi not really comfortable for a couple with people in rooms that have a similar sea view on the other adjacent side... but here is the worst part. Mid November... we cannot keep our door open because we were swarmed with mosquitoes... we tried turning the ac on... but surprise they shut it down at 4pm... so at 274 euro a night we were left with a fan they brought to the room... so cool 😎. 4 star hotel, junior suite where I can't open my door or turn on my air-conditioning.
If i were forced to return, I would stay on the non sea side without the mosquitoes, not pay the extra price for hot tub, private terrace or sea view as its all a joke. Pay for the cheapest room and know that it is a good value for money. Skip dinner buffet. Spend time at the bar or on the beach very nice indeed, breakfast is good and staff mostly friendly (outside the dinner room) and helpful to a point. Don't expect (or try to buy) luxury or any extra miles here... it is a value for money budget hotel for a budget holiday. So for this stay, ...
