I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. After placing my order, a waitress brought me a fruit drink with a straw, along with two glasses of water and a bottle. She poured the water into the glasses and left. Surprised, I asked if it was for me, and she confirmed it was, even though I hadn’t ordered it. I understand that mistakes happen, and that’s perfectly fine. However, what happened next was unacceptable. The restaurant manager approached my table, took the cocktail, the bottle of water, and the glasses without saying a word. In the process, he spilled water onto my meal, which made me feel very uncomfortable. He didn’t even apologize, and out of politeness, I didn’t bring it up, but I felt quite upset by the situation. To make matters worse, I later witnessed the manager scolding and shouting at the waitress who had made the mistake. This entire situation was unpleasant. Although the food itself was fine, the behavior of the manager was disgraceful. I don't know, maybe I was treated worse because I only ordered a kebab and halloumi cheese, so I didn't spend a lot of money. However, I believe that such behavior from the manager is unacceptable and very unprofessional....
Read moreOur experience at La Veranda was disappointing compared to other nearby restaurants (such as Daniel’s) in terms of both quality and price (which was around 10-15 euros per person). We ordered the Carbonara, Ribeye, and items from the Kids’ menu: Pizza and Bolognese.
The Carbonara lacked flavor, and despite ordering the ribeye medium-rare, it arrived half well-done and half medium (quite literally split down the middle). The Bolognese portion had more pasta than sauce, and the Pizza didn’t appear to be made from high-quality dough.
While the restaurant itself was lavishly decorated, the abundance of staff relative to the number of customers affected the overall atmosphere. It felt impersonal, as if we were interacting with a rotating cast of different personas—one to seat us, another to take our order, yet another to serve, and so on.
In summary, we cannot recommend La Veranda. Although the establishment seems to prioritize aesthetics and service, the food fell short of our...
Read moreNot sure what happened but it was bad I've read previous reviews and feeling very confused. It might be that we came to this restaurant at off-season (late October) but our experience was very different from those reviews below mine. The food is just awful. I had spaghetti carbonara for 10 euros. It's not cheap. I got a plate of fresh spaghetti(good) swimming in watery sauce(bad) with 5-6 squares of something that resembled bacon(really bad). The overall taste was awful. My wife ordered pork kebab. Which is basically just few chunks of dried out pork, very clearly that they were only heated but prepared probably few hours (days?) before our visit. I assume, according to previous reviews of the place that we had an exceptionally bad experience and it's probably due to the off-season but it was SUCH a bad experience that I highly recommend you to make sure you are ready to be disappointed, no matter the time of the year you...
