Mamas Restaurant — Restaurant in Pyla

Very nice restaurant with reasonable prices! The fresh orange juice is very good and it's indeed natural, unlike other restaurants where they offer orange juice from a box(even though it's noted freshly squeezed orange), a big glass at only 3,5 euros. We tasted several dishes as we went there for lunch in multiple days, so I can make the following statement: Afelia is really good, the meat is tender and juicy beef stifado has very tender meat spaghetti seafood were decent, nothing special fish kebab tastes good and there are many fish cubes in there, so it is not poor. the pancakes number 1 and 3 are really good the apple and cherry pies with icecream are amazing!!! the chocolate milkshake is yummy the banana split is very big with a lot of cream and delicious peach melba is also very good with big pieces of peach the banana and nutella pancake is biiiig Overall, the portions are quite big, a few times i had to choose from the kids menu as i couldn't eat that much and I wanted to have room for the delicious deserts.

Bonus: they offer free starters with warm bread and pita (tzatziki, tarama and fish eggs) and free slices of apple at the end of the meal (like a mini desert).

Staff and owner: all very friendly and mannered. The owner is very cool and a nice person, we got along with him and sometimes he offered us...

The owner (if he was the owner) is a nice man. And thats all good I can say about this place. We ordered souvlaki with french fries but instead we got 2 pieces of grilled chicken in pita bread with huge amount of salad which is really strange version of souvlaki if ordered for a child. My fish was just cooked not cleaned from bones or cut or anything and no seasoning at all. Just some raw onions with fish. The pork chop is below average, with some strange specific smelly taste of meat. French fries I believe are warm-ups. Overall I understand that you cant expect something really special if its a touristic part of the city and they serve cheapest possible options cause who cares about someone who definitely has not many options to chose in other country and will never come back anyway. However I believe its not a good business model. At the end we waited for the check for 10 minutes, then another 5 at the doors. I will say its like 40 euros for 3 main dishes so its ok for one time visit when nothing else is...

Visited tonight once again with some friends for dinner…but tonight was different….

Some people were very annoyed and kept talking loudly in the store and shouting for a burger being late(but all the others already devoured their food without asking or waiting for that burger XD).

We sat away from them and ordered some starters and some main courses. Everything came on time and perfect.

The waitress apologised about the other customers being rude and noisy. And as a matter of fact we really wanted to go and tell them to shut up. They looked like they were doing it to get a discount or something.

At the end of our dinner we got free coffee and desserts as a sorry from the owner.

We will be back for sure!!!
